Taz leaves TNA

No real great surprise there.

Is there a possibility, albeit incredibly slim, that TNA get JR in?

He has worked with Global Force recently and I would have thought the block tapings once a month would suit someone of his age.

A great coup if it does happen!

I don't see why he wouldn't if the block tapings continued. Might, and I say might, attract some more casual old school fans if JR was commentating on TNA.

I would love it if the first 10 minute match on Impact was this...

you were doing so well until the inside craddle - we all know its a ref bump or run in if its a TNA match!

One thing I have just realised is that JR keeps talking up Tazs podcast and is friends with him, so I doubt he would go!

I don't like him much but there is no doubt he is a very good commentator. The problem is that he is the play by play guy and would need a colour commentator off him - Josh Matthews is not that guy

Yes and it was awful.

JR & Matt Striker did an excellent job for NJPW doubt Lucha Underground will let him go though...

I think Taz is going to be the new host of Tough Enough now.

Not a bad shout actually. Was a good wrestler in his day, left WWE on good terms and would love a return, especially if the moneys right.

Was he also not a big player in helping develop the wrestlers on the original Tough Enough?  Perfect storm perhaps

Re-debut on Raw with the old music like its the 2000 Royal Rumble again and he chokes someone out before leaving the ring?

Tazz will become a coach in the performence Center i recon.

Saw last night's show and they said Taz was on "special assignment"...whatever that means.

On the one hand it was nice not to have him and Josh arguing and talking over each other all the time. On the other the commentary definitely felt it was lacking something, though Josh did his best (sounded like his voice was going at some points).

If Taz really is going / has already left, I can't say I'll miss him too much, but they definitely need to get a replacement in ASAP.

the three favourites are JB, Mike Tenay and Al Snow.

I think Al Snow could be a really good foil

I think JB could be good, with his dramatic announcer's voice.

Al Snow would be a good like-for-like replacement...though hopefully he'd be less annoying (commentators need to give each other space to work in).

Mike Tenay is a bit too quiet for my liking. Can't fault his knowledge, but I think he's doing a great job with interviews at the moment...the Michael Parkinson of pro wrestling! Commentary needs a bit more energy than he gives IMO.
