Fed trundling through the 1st set. Time to lose concentration and make it difficult now I suppose.

Gee thanks Haddie, because I'm on here every minute of every day. Maybe try reporting a post using the 'Report a post' function instead of throwing personal insults at the me.

Wawrinka getting embroiled in a scrap now with Lajovic. He leads by two sets to love but Lajovic a break up in the third. Verdasco and Becker into a fourth set with Verdasco two sets to one up. Federer leads 6-2 0-1.

Then the original post you left asking an innocuous question which was bound to get a response, you left.. was what I was referring to.It had no place on this thread in the first place.

I'm hearing reports that these gentlemen have also fallen out with Carlos Bernardes:

So you reported it? Or did you just think insulting me was the best approach?

Granollers bottling it when in with a chance. Broke Federer but handed the break back. Federer leads 6-2 3-4.

Re: French Open Day 3 & 4
is it worth mentioning that when Granollers was leading 4-2 15-0 Fed decided it was the best time to change his racquet? Granollers promptly threw in a couple of DFs in the game and lost his serve. No TV for Feds though ![Run](/users/3014/26/22/82/smiles/2211252749.gif)

Re: French Open Day 3 & 4
I think he should be done for changing his racquet, or at least told that he will be done (that's the rule isn't it?). I have always thought that.
I'm confident the Umpire wouldn't have a cap popped in his head though.

Granollers flatters to deceive again. Breaks Federer's serve in the first game of the third set but looks like handing it back here.

slightly worrying for Fed that he's been broken twice by Granollers TBH, not the sort of thing you'd expect to happen IMO. Is it windy out there? Fed seems to be framing more balls than recently...

It's not Earth-shattering, Granollers is a proper player and hasn't been #296 for a very long time.Mad for Chelsea wrote:slightly worrying for Fed that he's been broken twice by Granollers TBH, not the sort of thing you'd expect to happen IMO. I did predict that after an easy 1st set it was time for Federer to go walkabout.

Well, worrying perhaps wrt Fed's prospects for going deep here - but also very much to be expected.
As the years go by, there are a host of guys younger than Federer who can look to take a set, or even matches, from him, when in times past they could never hope to get close to making any impression.

Re: French Open Day 3 & 4
HM, Apparently Rafa was changing his soaking wet clothes in a hurry during interval as the washroom was far away from the tennis court. He only realized that he wore his shorts the wrong way when he re-entered the court.
I do feel Bernardes was unreasonable not to let Rafa change his shorts, at least in the tunnel, without giving him a TV. I agree with Rafa, that the umpire was disrespectful with the playerr, expecting him to continue play like that, and in the end Rafa had to change his shorts on court with only a towel to cover himself when changing. This is RIDICULOUS!

I get the impression RF is struggling physically today. A couple of signs I thought I spotted. Not injured..just tired and lacking intensity. Why mistakes are there when he really wants the match done with. Hence frustration

Fed not looking good so far this FO. He wasn't playing well in his first match either. I think Berdych or Kei may beat him to the final this time.

Re: French Open Day 3 & 4
Some great stuff from Granollers (although obviously not enough) and it would have got him through against many others today.
For Federer, the match was something of a microcosm of how his game is gradually - and inevitably - deteriorating with age : a host of errors which wouldn't have been evident in his pomp, but occasional spells of magic which see him into the next round.
