Two picks contested a playoff and LadyPutt's Alexander Levy held onto to win over Ross Fisher.  LadyPutt was the only one to choose the winner and despite having three picks left another of her picks scored to send her into a creditable top five position.  Three Fantasy Leaguers had five picks score, Davie, Super_Realist, and Kwinigolfer occupy the top three spots on the leaderboard.  Sand came joint third with Kwini as he had three picks score.  Eyetoldyouso, GolferMartin, I'm Never Wrong, McLaren, Pedro, and SirBenson also had three scoring picks.  AlciG, BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, Owen10ozzy, and TheCleaver all had two scoring picks.  SetupDetermines had just one scoring pick.

Ross Fisher and Mike Lorenzo-Vera shot 64 in the final round and Fisher's score earned points for Davie, Sand, and Super_Realist.

With the Ryder Cup just over a week away most of Europe's players are kicking back but two exceptions are the wildcard picks of Thomas Pieters and Martin Kaymer.  Pieters headlines the field as the top ranked player while the second highest ranked, Thongchai Jaidee, is the defending champion.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

As GM hasn't responded yet, my ruling is that you should take the first Evans on the list as his pick, that being Ryan.

Only one stroke in it after Round 1, Ben (67) and Ryan (68), but Ben inspired by the merest hint of a Bubba-like dis is already -2 in Round 2!

Another weather delayed event and a finally completed second round. Alexander Levy shot 62 to take the lead from Bernd Wiesberger who posted a 63 on Thursday. Both of these were picks and two others, Ross Fisher and Renato Paratore, joined them in the Top 5 Low Round scores. Five Fantasy Leaguers had two of Fisher, Paratore, and Wiesberger. Davie, I'm Never Wrong, Sand, SirBenson, and SUper_Realist were those five; LadyPutt picked Levy and those six share the lead. EmmDee57, Eyetoldyouso, GolferMartin, Kwinigolfer, and McLaren also had one of the Top 5 Low Round scores.

No worries GM, I didn't spot it until Friday morning anyway and I think you might be better off with Ryan anyway. Ben's righteous anger has worn off and he's likely to miss the cut.

The tournament has been shortened to 54 holes so the third round becomes the final round. Points will be awarded for Low Round only in Round 3; no Top 10 Low Round points will be awarded.

Round two finished with the cut falling at four under par. Almost half of the Fantasy League picks missed the cut, withdrew, or got disqualified for not finishing their second round. Cut bonuses were hard to find and just two Fantasy Leaguers earned two cut bonuses. Davie and Eyetoldyouso each have eight picks left; Davie lost a Cat C pick and Eye lost a Cat A pick and Eye was the only one to earn a Cat C cut bonus. GolferMartin, McLaren, and Super_Realist all have seven picks left while AlciG, BlueCoverman, I'm Never Wrong, Kwinigolfer, Owen10ozzy, Pedro, Sand, and TheCleaver all have six picks left. Only Kwini, Pedro, and Sand earned a cut bonus from the group with six picks left. EmmDee57, SetupDetermines, and SirBenson all have five picks left and SirB earned the last cut bonus. LadyPutt has just three picks left but she can console herself with another set of low round bonus points from Alexander Levy who shot 63.

Robert Karlsson and Michael Jonzon also shot 63 and Karlsson earned points for Kwini.

Two picks contested a playoff and LadyPutt's Alexander Levy held onto to win over Ross Fisher.  LadyPutt was the only one to choose the winner and despite having three picks left another of her picks scored to send her into a creditable top five position.  Three Fantasy Leaguers had five picks score, Davie, Super_Realist, and Kwinigolfer occupy the top three spots on the leaderboard.  Sand came joint third with Kwini as he had three picks score.  Eyetoldyouso, GolferMartin, I'm Never Wrong, McLaren, Pedro, and SirBenson also had three scoring picks.  AlciG, BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, Owen10ozzy, and TheCleaver all had two scoring picks.  SetupDetermines had just one scoring pick.

Ross Fisher and Mike Lorenzo-Vera shot 64 in the final round and Fisher's score earned points for Davie, Sand, and Super_Realist.

When the first round finished I was tallying points I was really surprised that he was only chosen once.

Are we doing a Ryder Cup special or are we, or more importantly you Grumps, having the week off?

Not sure LP, it's a difficult one to get the scoring opportunities right.  There are obvious ones; what result and final score but after that it gets trickier.  You can't really pick winners for each match as the afternoon matches are only announced an hour or so before they tee off.  Picking a number of players from each team is problematic too as they're not guaranteed to start each match unlike in a regular tournament.

Last time out I think we did the following:
Match result (10 points)
Match score (10 points)
10 bonus points for correct combo

Hero from each team [highest scoring player] (10 points)
Correct points for Hero from each team (10 points)
10 bonus points for correct combo

Villain from each team [lowest scoring player] (10 points)
Correct points for Villain from each team (10 points)
10 bonus points for correct combo

If folks want to do it I'm happy to run something.  And any other ideas are welcome too.

You could do something simple:
1. Divide the players into 3 categories (based on OWGR?), then everyone makes 2 picks from each category.
2. Then players score 10 points for playing, another 10 for a half and another 20 for a win.
3. Bonus points for top points scorers and being on the winning team.

And extra bonus point for guessing who Phil throws under the bus. My guess is the Task Force minus himself.
