Celta Vigo vs PSV
Team: 7-4
Tactics & formation: 3-6
Subs: 1-2
+2 Home ADV
13-12 - 3-3

Think Celta Vigo have a superior team for sure, but PSV have thoughts things through a bit better, like the diamond.

Voter 4

Team - Celta 7 PSV 4
T&F - Celta 5 PSV 4
Subs - No points
Celta +2pts home advantage
Celta 14 PSV 8 (3-2)
Think Celta's strikers are too similar to each other, they should look for a target man. PSV need to improve a lot as their team is very 'meh'

Voter 5

Comments: Too much quality up front in the Celta side, but their midfield needs work. PSV have a good defence but need a lot of work in the midfield and attack

Diamond is too narrow and against a 3-5-2 you need width to hurt them.

Torino have a strong defence defence but Alves needs to play as a WB to get the best out of him. Swansea need a bit more creativity on the wings.

I wasn't 100% sure how to calculate the final results Bam. I put an hour and 20 minutes into just posting those 3 matches as i had to reformat peoples results and calculate totals for people. There was also a couple of occasions where the points given were more than the total for that sections for example 9 given in subs when only 3 are allowed for that section. If we are to continue to do this i need help by people following the format as best they can, i realise time is precious but it would be a lot smoother for myself if there was just a little extra time taken to calculate results. I can divide the results by 4, that's not the time consuming part, its the formatting like i mentioned.

The voting system is just too complicated for me

I wouldn't worry about voting, or posting up everyone's individual votes as the formatting will just be a joke

I'd just do a total of all the votes in each area on a spreadsheet then divide by 4. Any comments can just be posted underneath

I think it should just be three people voting per week.
It's a doable system with that, but it's not feasible with this many people to work.

We can just simply go to give a score for everyone, it'd be nice if people used the formula as at least in their own mind to decide a result though.

I'm happy to use the formula, but think its a hell of a lot of work for Miky or whoever to put that into something that is easily readable

That's why I'd just total it and post the total - I think we can all trust Miky not to fudge the results

All need to post is just the end line from each person tbh eg

14-11 = +1A
12-13 = 0
10-15 = +2B
16-9 = +2A
13-12 = 0
12-13 = 0
15-10 = +2A
14-11 = +1A
12-13 = 0
12-13 = 0
_____

Result 2-1 to Team A

For week 2 is this easier?

Everyone simply copy the fixtures below:

PSV v Ajax
Nice v Real Sociedad
Watford v Hoffenheim
Torino v Marseille
Atalanta v Swansea
Celta Vigo v RB Leipzig

Then base their scoring on the team/tactics/sub/home advantage formula to split the 25 total points and send the head judge just:

PSV v Ajax 15-10
Nice v Real Sociedad (my game)
Watford v Hoffenheim 16-9
Torino v Marseille 12-13
Atalanta v Swansea 14-11
Celta Vigo v RB Leipzig 17-8

No it's worse.
The reason for this points system is that we want to know if it's tactics or team that makes us win or lose.
If anything I'd be more interested in a combined Tactics score and a combined XI score

Is the format difficult to follow though? Not really..

All people have to do is put the nunbers in against tactics formation etc and then total it including home adv. Hero wrote out the structure for us

11 team points to be split between the two teams.
9 tactics/formation points to be split
3 subs points to be split
and 2 points to the home team.

That is it.

It's not complicated Nando mate.

I think people have gotten confused on what the scoring is for each section. What Hero put above is easy enough. The voting structure is so easy to stick to its unreal, Hero even wrote it out for us. The only thing that would make it easier is if we made it blank after each section instead of Team A and Team B.

I got a few sets of tactics not in that format with different scores for each set, some were way over the allocated scores for the section. I still have to go through the rest of the games tonight and do the same again. I had to add home advantage into peoples totals and into the post so we know it was added. Just little things like that.

The point im making is that if the formatting is correct and people spent a tiny bit longer just getting the first bit right, i would be happy to lead vote each week to get it done. Everyone mentions having the time, i struggle to see anyone (bar maybe Hero) doing what i did last night and taking that time out if they are as busy as they say.

I was happy with anything, just wanted a league.

The votes will be staying the same for the time being. If it does get too difficult which it shouldnt do then we can talk about it further on.

I might start reducing bonuses for not using formats correctly though if that continues. I dont think its unfair to say its easy to use. Noted what you have said though Nando.

I admire the idea behind it.

Think would better if did it without the numbers

So go something like

Atlanta vs Torino

Team - Torino
Tactics - Atlanta
Subs - Torino

Torino win 2-1

Not sure home advantage is worth anything anymore either really unless your Bayern/Barca/Juve or Madrid.

Tactics & Formation should be alot higher then a team sheet imo.

Surely should be fairly even. Put Guiseley against Chelsea and no matter how good the Guseley tactics are they will lose 9/10.

Marseille have a good attack but their defence needs improving. Watford need more pace in their team and the front two would not work well imo

MOTM - Niang
Comments - On paper Marseille are the better side, but Watford's long ball tactic is just going to shake them up a bit defensively with them slightly lacking at CB. Niang and co will compete physically and win knock downs, and I think they'll take this

Team obviously counts more than tactics, don't really see how you could justify the opposite. Tactics in general are massively overrated, generally a team just tweaks around a designed plan throughout the season. Wholesale changes like going to a back 3 or something are rarely done on the fly.

Hoffenheim v Nice

Voter 1

Team: Hoffenheim 5 – Atalanta 6
Tactics & formation: 2-7
Subs: 0-3

Total: 10-15

Can't give Hoffenheim any subs points as they didn't name any or what they were going to do. Think Nice have a marginally better side but were well set up tactically to win the game.

Voter 3

Hoffenheim 4 Nice 7
T&F - Hoffenheim 4 Nice 5
Subs - Hoffenheim 0 Nice 3
Hoffenheim 2pts home advantage
Hoffenheim 10 Nice 15
Not too familiar with Hoffenheim's CB's tbh but I like their full backs a lot. Nice have a strong midfield 3 but need better wingbacks

Comments - Think Nice have the quality in the middle of the park to control the game, and Plea is enough of a threat to take advantage of the CB weakness for Hoff

Nice start from both teams personnel wise but a lot of building to do, think Hero's side will take advantage of Hoffenheim however not a walk over by any means.

Result-: Hoffenheim 0-3 Nice

Two decent, energetic sides here and it's very difficult to split them. I would have put the formation slightly differently for Ajax, as a 4-1-4-1 or 4-1-2-3. Under normal rules I'd give a draw.

Voter 4

Sociedad 5 Ajax 6
T&F - Sociedad 3 Ajax 6
Subs -  Sociedad 1 Ajax 2

Sociedad 11 Ajax 14
Sociedad need better fullbacks and a better CB partner for Martinez. Ajax need to improve in CM think they midfield 3 would get destroyed against better sides.

Good game. I feel like Sociedad really played to the strengths of the squad with Wanyama in there holding the middle ground as the tactics say. Bam has a job on with Ajax with some nice young talent in there i feel he needs to continue to bring in some big players to work with them.

Result: Real Sociedad 2-1 Ajax

I will be head voter but on a condition that people use the correct formatting and actually calculate totals for me and include home advantage in that.
