Wilder vs Ortiz Nov 4th
Hmmm. This could be an interesting one. Both big hitters so it could be entertaining. I'm guessing that Ortiz will not be Joshua's WBA mandatory anymore. Oh great - that presumably means Ustinov is next up for him. Just please not the 44-year old Oquendo who hasn't fought anyone for over 3 years...

I'm really looking forward to this(hope it doesn't go on box office) that is said in jest but it does seem any half decent fight is on PPV these days. Only downside is as you say AJ will have to probably fight Ustinov now

Doubt it's Box Office, just a 1am UK on Sky most likely. Sense it's starting to get real now for Wilder, been coasting along avoiding everyone, so likely his promoters have lost patience and really pushed him to do this. Needs a stif test before AJ too, although everytime I've seen Ortiz (Dave Allen & Scott) he's looked awful. Think Wilder takes this late on, might be some early eyeing each other up rounds because of both fighters KO's %, but Wilder should prevail in the end.

This one's a real puzzler. Why would Wilder choose to fight Ortiz?
A lot of dudes who know their onions are betting big on the Cuban.
Hoping Wilder makes it through - that's AJ's biggest fight by a mile.

I expect youth to win. I think Wilder employ a similar fashion to what he used to beat Stiverne.

I think a close controversial points win for Wilder. I think the timing of this fight is right for him.

Noooo no more controversy, i need a nice easy month of nothing like that so i can put an article together on it :-).
Tough one to call, if Wilder turns up sloppy and thinking it's in the bag can see Ortiz winning the slugfest, IF he turns up knowing it could be a tough night then can see him taking it on points

Wilder boxed well against Stiverne. He isn't fundamentally great, but he isn't as bad as some makeout.

Re: Wilder vs Ortiz Nov 4th
It'll be interesting to see whether Wilder can have the same success against a fighter with Cuban heritage and a decent Amateur background, with big power as well. Deontay's going to have to be a lot better than most give him credit for.
This is likely to be the best opponent he's faced - Ortiz is a step up up from Stiverne, and I have to give credit to Wilder for FINALLY stepping up. However, I also hope that Ortiz is taking this seriously and not training like Solis generally does (i.e Taco Bell and Burger King). Despite him looking fat though, Ortiz tends not to fluctuate and comes in at around 240lbs quite regularly. I reckon he's more of the Witherspoon mould in that although he's in shape and fit, he just looks a bit flabby.
Rumour has it that the smart money is on Ortiz for this fight, and if he fights to the best of his ability, he could spring a surprise. I think he tags Wilder at some stage and wins in about 8 rounds. Unless Wilder shows us something amazing in this fight, I believe he loses this one.

Fight's likely off. Ortiz failed drug test. AGAIN.

It's absolutely appalling. I guess Wilder has dodged a potential banana skin and nobody can fault him. He was willing to take the fight. He can fight somebody beatable now and await AJ next year.

FFS! A decent HW fight and the challenger is dumb enough to cheat despite having the knowledge that VADA testing was in place and he has previous for it.
What a twonk.
Who is next in the WBC line - up? If Wilder is lucky it will be Bellew...

Re: Wilder vs Ortiz Nov 4th
Another Wilder opponent fails a drugs test
So Ortiz was clean up until he fights Wilder then he is dirty
Too coincidental
I even predicted this would happen
They catch who they want to catch, when it suits them

The list of heavyweights who haven't tested dirty is reducing. Have to chuckle when Whyte is rumoured to be coming in (another dirty fighter).

Disappointing news, but not unexpected with Ortiz. Nothing really in the HW division bar the Wilder v Joshua fight anymore. Hyped division.

Blood pressure meds, which apparently contain a masking agent
Not sure why a high level athlete takes those, but he probably hasn't been taking them in the last 5 minutes lets put it that way
