Sexton (Leinster)

No centres, wings or fullbacks make the cut.  Hooker also out of favour.

9s and 10s getting short listed makes sense as they are key pivots and decision makers on the field.

Interesting how the love and plaudits seem to be going to the athletic locks roaming the outfield, not too many seasons ago it would have been all about the hooker and flankers work at the breakdown.

Glad Furlong is getting a nomination, token front row entry.

I think it has got to be Sexton. He may even be in with a shout of world player of the year. Certainly if he tours to Australia plays very well and Ireland pick up a series win he will be right up there.
