Pro14 Round 21 live thread
Anyone else just sat down to sit a great big ass groove into the couch this afternoon?
All Dragons so far.

That’s a killer. All that good work defensively and taking points on offer and Amos gets a yellow for an intentional knock-on.

Aye I thought so too.
Second try just gone in. Johnny McNicholl must have eyes in his arse as somehow he had the wherewithal to lift his boot as he was sliding in to avoid being put in touch. First class finish.

I’m afraid they are not particularly good, no. That said I enjoyed that half - there’s real danger of a game of rugby breaking out here!

Harsh not to give that.

Scarlets doing their level best to define 'a game of two halves'. For about the 8th time this season.

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
Good decision by Whitehouse. Should have given the Moriarty try though. Nige would have - bit more 'game intelligence' needed, rather than sticking by the rulebook.

Yep. Throwing it away. Classic f'ing Scarlets this season. Ridiculous stuff.

Scarlets getting taught a lesson here. No easy games.
If Patchell can turn this around for Scarlets he could find himself on the plane to Japan!

Patchell showing what he can do that the other 2 Welsh 10s cant (not as well, anyway). Hopefully they close it out from here - but I still don't see a place for Patchell in Japan. Maybe. But he'd had to go as a utility - in place of someone like Jonah Holmes so he plays 15 etc.

Not sure who made that decision but safe to say poor Rhys Patchell will be at home this summer.
That was a stunning game of rugby for the neutral.

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
I don't blame Patchell.. The whole team had absolutely lost its nerve there. Only Ken was willing to carry and risk it, with Fonotia, Jon Davies, and maybe one or two others looking to actually get over the gainline. No pressing need to go for the drop goal - but better to lose like that than with a soft knock on as nearly happened a phase before. Scarlets don't deserve to be in Europe if they can't beat the shower that is the Dragons, who performed well today but are even less of a team than the Scarlets. Good tries and a good game for the neutral, no doubt.

Great 2nd half.. Surprising outcome but probably a good reflection of Scarlets season.

Probably a season to forget for Scarlets. They’ve not become a bad team overnight and I’m sure they’ll bounce back. Might have a real chance at winning the diddy cup next season.

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
A very good reflection of the season. Almost a perfect reflection.
Teams don't have to do very much to beat the team. They just let the Scarlets fall on their own sword. Time after time after time.
Shows what the Dragons COULD do - they've got good individual players, like all the Welsh regions. Just don't see them together often enough/playing well enough.

First score Zebre 3-0. Nearly 10 minutes in and I don’t think Treviso have touched the ball yet.
No light up posts in Parma, that’s for sure!

It’s on Freesports. Watching it on the Premier Sports website on a computer plugged into the television.

Beneton with Yellow and Zebre not playing totally awful. Some hope for Edinburgh yet

Zebre just need 2 converted tries and to keep Benneton scoreless and it's part 1 of operation Save the Scarlets complete...

That’s the spirit! Keep the faith.
Edit: apparently there is a thanks button when you’ve created a thread. Not sure what it does but I’ve accidentally pressed it. No idea what that means

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
It warms my heart. Virtually.
Cory Allen's cropped up with a good try from set piece. 13-10 Ospreys leading Blues after 30 mins. Nice finish by Allen - just needs to follow it up by finishing off his haircut. A skin fade culminating with severe male pattern baldness on top is the combover of the 21stC. Shave it off Cory.

I can see Zebre sneaking a 2 point win or similar here. Which would mean Benneton finish 3rd, of course.

McFadden should have been red carded, think he still could be cited

Good decision from Benetton to take the points. Win the game first then think about the bonus point. 6-15 after 55 minutes.

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
Because he threw a headbut, if Reidy had done a Beirne it would have certianly been a red, instead the angle isnt clear enough so ref just gave a pen.

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
Benetton’s third try and probably the one that finishes Scarlet’s season (sorry miaow).
They are now one try away from wrapping up a first ever playoff appearance. What a season from them, and well deserved if they do get it.
Still 20 minutes to play.

Yeah despite being an Edinburgh fan I am happy for Benetton making playoffs, they were more consistent than Edinburgh and Scarlets this season.

Arguably should have been a pen try, doubt anyone could have caught Garyn Smith

Terrible miss or looking after next year. To be fair 18pts says he is playing to win. Has to be difficult place to be. It is hard to see the Blues replace him

So many mistakes in this game, i think one can see why none of the welsh team will make the playoff.

Not at all. There's still the Friends of Scarlets' European Outreach Society that's in desperate need of help from honorary members Glasgow...

Re: Pro14 Round 21 live thread
How can it be right that the Ospreys get home advantage in the playoff game?
Surely it should be home and away.
If Leinster win the HC do both 4 placed sides go through?
