Thought about them all. Wood - didn't play long enough. Nor Halstead or Tipoki. Langford is 4th after O'Callaghan. Backrow has a wealth of talent Williams misses the cut for me.

Ah David you beat me to it. I found it really tough to think of another fullback for us!
I would say or frontrow looks good and that 9-13 combo is pretty special.

Re: Your Club / Regions Greatest Ever 15.....
Again like the scots the Ospreys havent been around that long but,
1. Duncan Jones,
2. Mefin Davies,
3. Adam Jones,
4. Brent Cockbain
5.Alyn Wyn Jones
6. Ryan Jones.
7. Marty Holah
8. Jerry Collins
9. Justin Marshall
10. James Hook,
11. Shane Williams
12. Scott Gibbs
13. Mark Taylor
14. Tommy Bowe
15. Gavin Henson
Two players who should have been in there are Alan Bateman who finished top class rugby in 2003 and Coin Charvis who left Swansea in the same year.
Before i get the Henson bashers there is no denying his record for the ospreys.

After the listed 2nd row there is a bit of a stuggle for quality locks too.
Quins seem to have a pretty good record of quality no.2's over the years - lets hope Grey can live up to the expectation.

Yea and was poor due to being injury plagued. Payne, Warwick and maybe even Jones have been better fullbacks for us.

Good call on Glasgow front row, FES.
It's a terrible indictment of the 12 position that you have to put Laney in there.

Put Laney in any jersey numbered 9-15 and you know you are in for a rollercoaster 80 mins!
What always liked about Laney was he always looked like he loved bein on the pitch.
Never afraid to try something.
Made reserve bench in my top team!

I don't think that anyone could veer between deity and donkey in one match the way Laney could.

To be honest the one that troubled me the most was Webster. Laney wasn't too bad for Edinburgh, it was really with Scotland where he looked out of his depth. I thought about putting CP on the wing for Edinburgh instead of Webster, and Southwell at 15, although I'm not sure that's much better. Cammy Murray maybe? Don't recall him doing an awful lot with Edinburgh, and I think most of his best rugby was in a Scotland jersey.

Re: Your Club / Regions Greatest Ever 15.....
Hmm bit of an Ulster mish mash of all time greats I haven't seen play and players I've watched over the years. I'm sure someone a bit more knowledgeable will be able to have a better stab at it.
15 Simon Mason
14 Tommy Bowe
13 Andrew Trimble
12 Mike Gibson
11 Trevor Ringland
10 Jack Kyle
9 Ruan Pienaar
8 Roger Wilson
7 Neil Best
6 Stephen Ferris
5 Willie John McBride
4 Jeremy Davidson
3 BJ Botha
2 Rory Best
1 Syd Millar
A lot of top players left out there like david Humphreys, Paddy Johns, Willie Anderson, Dennis McBride, Johann Muller, Justin Harrison etc. due to them being in strong positions.
I think Trimble deserves to be in there somewhere so I've squeezed him in at 13 even though there are probably better candidates in the centre.
Not sure about Mason at 15 or Wilson at 8 either. Best is a controversial one at 7 I suppose but for me he's one of the best players I've seen in an Ulster shirt.

You would think so on reputation but ten again look at the size of the Viet Gwent compared to the Jones boys...! Modern day players are three stone heavier and six inches taller. Re: Your Club / Regions Greatest Ever 15.....
D24tress – Surely Paul Wallace and Shane Byrne would be in that team? And as much as I love Isa (which is quite a lot) Girvan Dempsey has got to be at fullback.
With that in mind, this would be my team:
Healy – Byrne – Wallace
Cullen – O’Kelly
Elsom – Heaslip – Gleeson
Whittaker – Sexton
Hickie – Darcy – O’Driscoll – Horgan
Dempsey
Corrigan – Wright – Jackman – Hines – O’Brien – Reddan – Contepomi - Nacewa

Can't remember how long the Teichmann played for the Dragons (if indeed he ever did). The other three never did though.

Got to disagree on a couple of the Tigers selections (not many though);
A(1)Rowntree
B(2)Cockerill
C(3)Castro (Garforth was awesome in the scrum but lacked a little round the park)
D(4)Johnson
E(5)Kay
F(6)Croft
G(7)Back
H(8)Richards
I(9) Austin Healy
J(10)Joel Stransky
K(11)Rory Underwood
L(12)Pat Howard
M(13)Paul Dodge
N(14)Geordan Murphy
O(15)Dusty Hare (he is the first class top points scorer)
Hmm might have to come back to this and try and fit in a Tuilagi somewhere. Can't decide whether to drop Geordan or Rory though.

Don't agree with your choice at 12 for Glasgow - Daryl Gibson was pretty awful and, although he has his faults, Greame Morrison has been a fantastic servant for Glasgow.
Unfortunately I reckon Glasgow would win that game between those teams - that pack is superb!
It is strange how Edinburgh has been a pretty good attacking team over the years but the best we can come up with at 10 and 12 is Slodge and the chainsaw??

It's a fair comment on Morrison. Gibson the better player, Morrison the man who has contributed more to Glasgow. No Andy Henderson though.
I thought a bit about the Edinburgh 10/12. The next best is probably Godman/De Luca. Doesn't say an awful lot.

Yeah I know, that was my point, neither was Charvis. When the Os were formed they were both players imo who should have got contracts but didnt. Charvis was Wales captain at the time and had to go to France for a contract and Bateman was regarded as too old.

Dont recall any of them playing for the Dragons, didnt they play for Newport RFC?
