The England and Wales Cricket Board.

I mean, I ask you!

I'm an English supporter of Cricket. My team is England & Wales. That's fine in itself. I'll go further. I LIKE that my team is England and Wales. Shocked

But you try writing "England and Wales", or even "E&W" every time you want to name the team. It doesn't happen. Just too clunky. So I call the side "England". censored

Can anyone come up with a decent name for an Anglo-Welsh side? (Preferably one that can be used in the presence of elderly relatives!)

Or could we come to an arrangement where the English call it the English side, and the Welsh call it the Welsh side and both turn up with the relevant daffodils, roses, Dragons and Crosses and we all support the same team? Hug

It would be very colourful and create a unique and rather special atmosphere, I think. rose Wales

This need not (indeed would not) influence the intensity of support against eachother in, say, Rugby for example... boxing

Ok, ok, I'll just keep taking the happy pills. king

ok, ok. Smile

It's just if I were Welsh I'd feel a bit sniffy. I hope they call it the Welsh team and support it. I wouldn't mind another Simon Jones or Robert Croft.

I'll just carry on writing about England.
