No player and 7 people in the 30k plus seats AA stadium! I guess they are all queueing at Dunkin' Donut!

Sources say they may be up to an hour of play before the rain seeps in again...so no more than 3 games in the Nadull-Muller encounter!

Match between Ferrer and Roddick on Armstrong suspended: Court has a problem. Water at the back of the court.

The Grandstand court is playing really slow. In a way feel sorry for Young as he seems reluctant to go for his shots. Another break for Murray.

And that's the first set for Murray, this will definitely be straight sets if Don doesn't try to extend the rallies a bit, Murray is just being solid and the American doesn't have the patience to do the same.

Does anyone know why the USTA should call a Court Louis Armstrong - I mean the guy was a legend but why name a tennis court after him?

Young's problem is his backhand isn't penetrating enough, and with Murray finding that wing at will he's trying to do too much with the few forehands he's getting. he needs to settle or this could be over pretty quickly...

Young thinking too much in between shots. It is going to be his undoing.

The link with Louis Armstrong seems to be that he lived from 1943 to his death in 1971 in a house in Queens, very near the stadium in Flushing.

And that he was a regular spectator there might have something to do with it.

Murray holds his serve after a minor scare. That's 7 straight games for the British no.1. Not sure what Young can do to turn this around.

Then there should be a main court named after Cliff Richard, only fair!

Murray loses a bit of focus and a couple of loose shots take Young to deuce for the first time on his serve. He responds with two big serves, and is safely into a 2-0 lead

Young is finding some range on his shots and some umph on that serve. He holds on his serve. Breaks the duck.

I feel really sorry for Roddick and Ferrer - what an absolute shambles that they can't play.

Let's see how the USTA respond to this - whether they set a time by which it needs to be fixed or they go on an outside Court - unless they get a very firm grip this has the potential to screw up all the draws even further.

Murray showing some lapses in concentration. This is why people say he won't win a Slam. Go from being in control of the match comfortably to oh I will chuck my serve away. Poor. If there is anything more frustrating than the weather and US organisers is a free Murray game.

Oh FFS - Murray's got to get that match over pronto.

Compare that with Fed's demolition of Monaco and Nadal's current busting a gut to get the second breakback and the first set against Muller. They know that you can't afford to let the mind drift in any round against any player. Quite apart from anything else, their opponents are rarely made to feel that they are in with a chance unless they make a superhuman effort.

my word that was awful from Young, with Murray fretting and 30-0 up he throws in four awful forehands and gifts the break straight back to Murray!

The players have brollies up at the change of ends. Surely it's someones idea of a sick joke as it is hardly sunbathing weather.

Donny can't hold his serve this time round, still I think this may be a close set with Murrays serve jitters.

If he's looking for a crack to wedge the damp towel into I'm sure there are plenty on here who could volunteer a helpful suggestion.

Muller is a bit of a useless lump.

Unless he wins a point with an ace or unreturnable he doesn't look like winning any at all.

Murray at 36% on his 1st serve - he isn't going to beat anyone of any consequence with that.

Gilles Muller deserves a slap for losing that set!

Young obviously sensing that Murray's struggling decides to help him out a little, though Murray did play one good point there. This is a pretty awful match so far TBH...
