Dunno if this has been posted before...
Igor Cetojevic, the nutritionist who helped Novak Djokovic give up gluten, has been fired, it is being reported.
The Serb had been struggling with breathing problems for years before working with Cetojevic, who recommended a gluten-free diet for the Wimbledon champion.
Since then, his condition seems to have disappeared, but that hasn't stopped Djokovic from showing the nutritionist the door.
No reason was given for the decision
maybe this explains his poor level of play

Djokovic is just hanging in there.
Bet Tipsy is peed for not taking the first set.

Doesn;t he remind you someone else? He is just extremely solid when it matters and typical of the risk taker being under more pressure when they have the opportunity to cross the line (or a set here).
We see that so many times against Nadal and Djoko.
He started to remind me to someone long time ago..
I know you said that long ago...To me he was a bolitieri boy.
An earthquake? Wowww.....You would not want those dams to break up in Neder-land!

Re: USO day 11 08/09
This is a strange match. Entertaining, but strange. All the inspiration has come from Tipsy. He's been fantastic at times and really taken it to Djokovic. And yet through getting balls back and just being solid, Djokovic is ahead.
He's earned himself so many chances has Tipsy, but then made some absolutely bizarre decisions and thrown them away.
I have no faith that he'll hold this break, for no other reason tahn he keeps committing suicide at the key moments.

It definitely is! And yes, Djoko is not the player he was in the spring of this year.
One last warning from the ATP?

Murray and Isner on Arthur Ashe first tomorrow at noon and followed by Nadal and Roddick.

Warning for what? That doctor has a good reputation and unless Chinese traditional medicines are banned (which Fed also use) then it's pretty silly to label him a cheat. One last warning from the ATP?

Semis will still be on Saturday, final will be on Monday. Giving whoever gets there from Murray and Nadal's half a chance of recovering a bit...
That almost sounds like common sense!

that's a super tie-break from Tipsarevic, levelling at one set all with the help of some tremendous serving...

Djoko losing a set...Is that part of a plan to make Federer and Tsonga play late or even tomorrow...should he rain later?
It would be smart...cunning rather.

Well, he really went for it. Absolutely deserved to win this set
I thought Tipsy lacks variation to trouble Djoko but his hard-hitting is frequently too much for Djoko

you have to think that the frequency with which Tipsy is hitting through Djokovic will give hope to Federer and Tsonga, who are both after all pretty big hitters themselves...

Tipsarevic playing the match of his life out there but surely he can't keep his fearsome hitting up? When will fatigue set in? Great match in any case.

No way. 2-0 up, playing great and full of energy maybe... But there is nothing in this, and hasn't been for 2 sets.
He's arguably been the inferior player for 2 sets, it would be crazy to choke a set in this kind of match.

For someone who has been playing for the better part of nine years on tour and still hasn't won a title, is this the same Tipsarevic!

Tipsarevic's problem has always been consistency. He's likely to be brilliant one match, and capable of beating pretty much anyone on his day, but then the next day he'll be awful, disinterested and lose to some random guy outside the top 50...

Well actually, it's his defense which keeps him alive. Tipsy is the better attacker tonight

This is why I find it hard to be a fan Djoko's tennis.
Totally passive, waiting for errors, grinding. No initiative taking, no great shotmaking.
I hope Tipsy wins, if for no other reason then for being gutsy.

I just think we are beginning to see the sting going out of some of Tipsarevic's groundstrokes. Djokovic to win in four for me but a great performance from Tipsarevic all the same.

Sky have just shown the stats from the Isner v Simon match... Bearing in mind it was a fairly long match, they have got Simon down as having made 1 unforced error in the entire match.
I know he doesn't give much away, but surely that's an error (ironically)?
One UE in about 4 hours of tennins, i refuse to believe it! Did anyone watch it?

the last two games from Tipsy have I'm afraid been disgraceful for a professional tennis player, barely bothering to play one shot per rally, and if that didn't work then giving up on it. Now calls the trainer on court...

Watched the end of the third set, and remember one bad error in the TB, be very surprised if that was the only one... Tipsy has called an official MTO, so maybe I was too quick to judge him. Seems to be the left hamstring.

Tipsarevic has this attitude problem, commies saying it was all about Djokovic stepping it up, did they actually see the way Tipsy played the last three games: hits serve, stands about two feet inside the baseline without making an effort to get himself into position for the shot. I've seen him do this before, and I find it disgraceful to see a professional sportsman not trying his hardest out there

Re: USO day 11 08/09
Got to say, you've got to hand it to the top guys.
Djokovic has been out hit for most of this match, but he's just decided he's going to be solid, get balls in play and outlast his opponent... And he has surely all but beaten him now. Not with shot making, but by chasing everything and getting enough balls back into play. Incredible fitness.
Same as Murray against Haas, being outplayed but just stayed out there long enough to turn it into a war of attrition and ultimately emerged as the physically superior player.
Stating the obvious a bit, but these top players must be astoundingly fit.
