First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great current props' pictures on the bar. We've got Castrogiovanni, Beast, the Franks brothers, Mas, Tonga'uiha, Roncero, Cian Healey (as demanded by Hughie), Stevens, Murray, Mike Ross, Adam Jones and Steenkamp all in action. Graffiti's a banning offence Wink

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

The funniest thing was when we got up this morning to watch the match I was telling MrP about the confusion over the start time and he said,

"But it does start at 7am!"

I'm not sure if I was more worried that he hadn't recorded the first hour or that I might have got all the Irish V2 fans out of bed an hour early!

Yes MrsP, in my defence and as Kiwi alluded too earlier, they changed the clocks last night in NZ. So I was right when I said it. And wrong when they changed the clocks.

RWC Website should have factored this in. A big mistake by them, which caused a lot of sheet Worldwide. 2 of my mates over here - missed the 1st hour. Even though I had sent them texts at all hours of the morn.

Naughty Step for the IRB. And the Web designers. zen

Gibbo, for the ex-pat in you.

IRELAND - HOME SWEET HOME......... The only place where........

• When you were young, you went to bed when Glenroe was over,
• If you die from alcohol poisoning, you're considered a lightweight,
• 'Flip off' means 'Are you serious?',
... • The person that you insult most is probably your best friend,
• Saying 'I will yea' means that you definitely won't,
• "Flip it, its grand' means that you couldn't be bother finish it properly,
• 'Hes fond of a drink' means he suffers from severe life-threatening alcoholism,
• Saying you're going for a drink means you might not be seen again for 3 days,
• Crisps are called 'Taytos' and fizzy drinks are called 'minerals',
• 'For the craic' is the best reason for doing anything,
• The best cure for a hangover is more drink,
• Nobody can go a day without saying 'Jaysus',
• 'Meeting' has a double meaning,
• Tea is the solution to every problem,
• And water is the solution to every GAA injury,
• "I got stuck behind a tractor' is a perfectly valid reason for being late,
• We eat Tayto sambos for lunch, and ham sandwiches on the way to Croke Park,
• You can insert the name of a gardening tool into any sentence and it still makes sense, e.g. 'I had a rake of drink last night' or "I'll be out in a minute, I'm just shoveling down the dinner',
• GAA is considered religion,
• Its perfectly acceptable to call your mother 'mammy' even though you are a fully grown adult,
• Saying 'Now we're sucking diesel' means that you are happy with the outcome of the situation,
• Drinking 'tae' is everyone's favourite past time,
• You're scared of the wooden spoon,
• The word 'like' goes in every sentence,
• You can say "Any craic' to a garda and you won't get arrested,
• 'The dogs' Love sacks' means something brilliant.......

Yeah, I know that.

But there was a lot of confusion in here last night and I was adamant that it started at 6am and eventually convinced everyone else.

Then the hubby said it was 7am and got me worried.

How to avoid time problems with fixtures. Check the tv listings! Anyone see that sign at the game "Happy birthday Mam!" Thought it was a nice touch.

I know that MrsP. I then checked the ITV website and it confirmed what you said. But the RWC OFFICIAL Website said 08:00 in NL. It was wrong. I watched it change to 07:00 - 2 hours before the game.

I had copious printed PDF lists, that I had in front of me on the wall. ALL match times were wrong after they changed the clocks. A fact they should have factored in - but did not. Highly unprofessional. If you cant trust the people organising it...

MrP had probably done the same on his PC.

Capiche?

Howya Kenny. Gibbo,Van Persie took his second very well Jaaskelainen could have done better for the first. He is not captain material,he is a good goalscorer,he tends to get injured and also his goals come in bursts

How bout that Suarez eh?

Yeah T. Van Persie is a little petulant shoite to be honest. But has moments of Bergkamp brilliance. Not half the player - but better than most in the Prem.

Story Pete? Yeah, I just said that. Not even half the player. And hasn't got Arsenal in his soul like Dennis had. He loved it there. Van Persie would leave for a few more shekels if Arsenal dont do well this year. Bergkamp loved where he was. He'd stay and help make it better. Said on Dutch TV that it was his dream fulfilled. Makes a huge differ

Like Zola at Chelsea. These foreigners made a huge impression on English football. Cantona too. Ale

Me too Bro. But the differ being, I mostly get other people, to kick de sheet out of anyone who even starts to have a go. Its called management. And knowledge gleaned on the way.

Know where you are. Know what the situation is and what the limitations are. Make sure you have cover if yer goin in.

If you only have one option in any given situation - its YOUR fault. Not theirs.

Bergkamp just had that touch of class about him that sets apart the great from the very good.

Sat down at work earlier to watch Ospreys v Ulster, got 25 minutes in and a job happened that I ended up having to go out to, and just got finished. Just watching the AP highlights show now, happy days.

Have I missed much?
