Player nicknames
Was bored and was interested to know if any players on your favourite team have any good ones. Obviously megatron, cj2k, primetime are famous ones. Aldon Smith wears number 99 and so some call him 99 problems which I think is good.

Re: Player nicknames
On the broncos we've got Weapon X (Brian Dawkins), Doom (Elvis Dumervil) and that's the only very commonly used ones. I love Jones-Drew's nickname "Pocket Hercules" and Frank Gore "The inconvenient truth"

Pocket Hercules is far and away my favourite. Excellent nickname. Also a fan of All Day for Peterson.

I like "Dirty Thirty" for Laron Landry.
Also, so wish we still had "The Reaper" aka the late Sean Taylor RIP roaming our secondary terrorising any WR that dared cross the middle of the field

Re: Player nicknames
Actually, just dawned on me that there's another Skins player with a cracking nickname - Trent Williams aka "Silverback"!! Love that one! Mind you, given that he's currently suspended as a result of his recreational drugs use, "Donkey" might be more appropriate!

Re: Player nicknames
There's some beauties my favourites include:
The Slot Machine = Wes Welket
Run DMC = Darren McFadden
Revis Island = Darrell Revis
Lights Out = Shawne Merriman
Megatron = Calvin Johnson
Then from the past you have....
Neon Deion & Primetime = Deion Sanders
Joe Cool = Joe Montana
Broadway Joe = Joe Naymath
My all time favourite was the nickname given to The Jets defensive line in the 80's.... New York Sack Exchage

Re: Player nicknames
I know it's not football, but I loved how David Robinson for the San Antonio Spurs was called "The Admiral". Great name.

Re: Player nicknames
I like alot of the names the NFL Network guys have for the players, particularly Tony "don't call me Adam" Scheffler.

If you are going historic, how about "dem Hogs"?
I always liked the idea of Crazy Legs Hirsch.

Re: Player nicknames
I have this recollection of Ike Taylor calling himself something like "Ike T Squared" on the SNF intro's.
Anyway, "Pocket Hercules" is the best!
Clay Matthews is the "Claymaker" as the only other one I can think of atm

Re: Player nicknames
Darnell Dockett said in the local newspaper that the other Cardinals players call him "Fart Box" because apparently he produces copious amounts of gas and they call Dan Williams "Big Booty Judy" because of his broad backside. It is rather large.
We used to have Roy "Jet Stream" Green and QB Neil Lomax "The Grand Cannon" (take off of the Grand Canyon in AZ and probably more of a PR created one than a real nickname - he was QB when they relocated here).
The then Phoenix Cardinals used to have a safety named Chuck Cecil "The Heat Seeking Missile". That guy was only 6' and 185 pounds but he was a savage who launched himself like a projectile and had a rep for spearing people with the crown of his helmet. He'd give James Harrison a run for his money as a dirty player -- he definitely would have a bad rep now. I watched him hit Rod Middleton of the Redskins so hard that his chin strap split in half (all 4 snaps still fastened to the helmet) and his helmet flew off into the air and and rolled 15 yards away (and I'm not kidding - it sailed into the air). I thought he'd killed him. There used to be a photo of it and a video, but can't find them - NFL probably buried them somewhere.
