What was wrong with the ref tycroes? My mind is the baby blacks adapt to his calling at the breakdown and switch to the old style ruck law. It's the second time I see the old style ruck interpretation after the ireland v all blacks game was interpret the same way by Nigel Owen. Do you think this is crept back in and IRB need to remind some referee?

What was wrong with the ref AWOP?

1. His calling at the set for the scrums,
2. Ignoring multiple infringements off the ball
3. Ignoring blocking runners
4. Ignoring offsides
5. disallowing a perfectly good try
6. missing knock ons
7. Allowing the blacks to seal off at the breakdown
8. Multiple infingements by the blacks loosehead at every scrum


Honestly if SA was a country where match fixing in sport had been endemic then I would be asking how much the NZRU had paid him, But of course SA isnt like that.

He call very slow the scrum but Wales always go too quick. How is this problem about the referee? Was the same for both teams.

I need example about 2..4,6-7 please from minutes and I will check.

As I mention already the breakdown was refereed like 2004 as was the all blacks v Ireland game. But baby blacks notice and change to match the interpret by flood the breakdown with players. I agree is seal off but this was even how he call it and match to Nigel Owens on the weekend too!

Point 8. Really? Which ones? I thought Wales win the scrum early on but get tired from the tackle on big players and subsitute and eventually lose the power.

2. Eli walker held off the ball in the second half amongst others
4. Loosehead prop coming offside whenever haberfield whent for a box kick throughout the game
6. Build up to one of the blacks tries in the second half
8. Samson Lee was on until the very end. he bent the BB prop into all sorts of trouble throughout the game, Im still not sure if Lee is as good as he looked at the scrum or if the black prop was just apalling, he twisted he turned and did everything he could not to scrummage straight.

But 4 was most time the Welsh catepillar and is illegal anyway! baby blacks stray and then go back and the referee allow play because was no impact. I think he get sick of the Welsh take 20 minutes to make a box kick every time! Once he even call the ball out!

No fundementally the ref was poor. However his decsisions had a bigger impact on the welsh play. Honestly the baby blacks were 10-12 points better than us today espescially as we couldnt drag them into a dogfight. Certainly the baby blacks once they realised the ref wasnt going to adhere to the rules played him. The welsh boys needed to be a bit more streetwise at the breakdown. AWOP the walker holding off the ball was late on in the game as wales were attacking from deep. short of watching it again I cant give you the time. did it change the result no. did it ruin the game yes.
