Bendtner fined 100,000 Euros (80,000 GBP) and banned for 1 game.....FOR WEARING PANTS!

Does anyone else find this ban/fine absolutely ridiculous? When you take into consideration Luis Suarez was only fined £40,000 for the comments he made to Patrice Evra...

He was wearing a pair of pants FFS, hardly crime of the century is it now!! UEFA are just as useless as FIFA. No consistancy....no brains!

If they want to actually do something about racism then yes- you have to punish them hard- either fine them millions or deduct points next qualy.

A 60k fine isnt gonna push an FA into doing zip.

Russia have a points deduction next qualy for the fireworks!! that will certainly push them into doing something i can tell ya!

This has Proved that they do dish out punishments(real ones)

Do i think they should?. Thats not the question here, just cant believe the naivity that people think a 60k fine is a punishment and will fix anything

The latest generation of England fans have grown up in a far more multicultural scoiety than the earlier generation, and their foreign equivalents.

It also draws worldwide attention to the state of racism in these countries.

It's no more wishy washy than you saying a bigger fine will force them to "do something", and when questioned on what that "something" should be you just say like what the English FA did........ pal.

Thanks for the genius comment but i have allready explained what i feel they should do(if they want to help fix racism)- give them a punishemnet that hurts them- like yes a big fine or a points deduction

That doesn't fix anything, that's just revenge. It won't work.

What does that fix?
Is that how the world works now is it? Screw trade sanctions and the diplomatic cold-shoulder, just deduct their football team some points and we'll all be ok.
Think of the lives that could have been saved if Tony Blair was aware of this all conquering tool of persuasion and just deducted some World Cup qualification points from Iraq.

i dont understand what the heck you are talking about. Its kinda simple stuff this- you offer real punishments and it can motivate others not to do something. Basically you punish bad behaviour- its kind of the whole law/morale principal this world spins round on.

what we have done to iraq is invade them? the punishment is a little bit harsher lol

I don't know about you, but the whole law/morale principal that my world is spun on is that you punish the perpetrator of the bad behaviour - which is not what you're suggesting.

UEFA has a stance that FA's should take a certain amount of responsibility for there fans actions.

because that is a different debate. I am in two minds about that.

I am concentrating on the way things are. I accept the position uefa are in(rightly or wrongly isnt my debate at the moment) and that they do hold FA's resposible and i am arguing that the punishments are token to appease people but not significant

I can guarantee that Russian fans will still throw fireworks at some point in the future.

It is revenge, you messed up our tournament, we'll mess up for qualification. If anything, it will only make the Russian fans more angry.

You can't expect UEFA to solve problems that the world in general is still struggling with.
