NFL Final Cuts day

A different kind of deadline day in the NFL (which is making my twitter go mental).

Eagles have cut Joselio Hanson, Atogwe

Giants have cut DE Matt Broha, OL Selvish Capers, WR Dan DePalma, TE Larry Donnell, WR David Douglas, DT Dwayne Hendricks, CB Bruce Johnson, LB Greg Jones, DE Craig Marshall, OT Matt McCants, LB Jake Muasau, DB Tyler Sash, WR Isaiah Stanback, DT Marcus Thomas, RB D.J. Ware.

Damn. I'll have to change one of my fantasy team names now!

Stunned... the Redskins have booted Tim Hightower.

I thought we would take 4 RBs into the season, after all you know how much Mike Shanahan likes to stockpile his RBs. I know Hightower is coming off a torn ACL but if any of the RBs went I didn't think it'd be him. Still, it'll be exciting to see what the young guys Royster, Helu and Morris can do. Come to think of it, I'd love to see some stats on the average age of each NFL roster - before Shanahan came in we had one of the oldest - we must be amongst the youngest now.

No other major Redskins cuts apart from Chris Cooley a few days ago. Biggest other news seems to be that Brandon Banks appears to have made the team. Terrence Austin is odd man out at WR.

Kind of surprised by that one, thought he was in after they cut Gaffney

Seneca Wallace is gone.

Hoping Josh Cooper and James Dockery can make it onto the practice squad, imagine somebody will pick up Evan Moore surprised Alex Smith made the roster but Moore didn't, they must trust Smith more with the blocking.

The Bucs have picked up D.J. Ware.

To nobodies surprise, the Raiders have picked up Joselio Hanson!

Exactly what we needed to see, we desperately needed help at CB in the absence of vast improvements from Van Dyke and Chekwa, both of whom have been cut now.

Now we just need a tight end...

I imagine that unless he does amazing he'll be getting cut when Hernandez is back though. Still gives him a shot to make someone else sign him.
