Jack Swagger arrested

WWE star Jack Swagger was arrested last night in Mississippi, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly committing several traffic offenses.

Source close to the situation tell TMZ, Swagger was leaving a "Smackdown" taping at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi when he was pulled over.

It's unclear what traffic offenses Swagger is accused of committing ... but they were serious enough to result in an arrest.

We're told Swagger -- a former WWE World Heavyweight champ -- was taken in by local sheriff's deputies ... and later released on his own recognizance.

We reached out to WWE, who tells TMZ, "Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions."

TMZ is now reporting that Jack Swagger has been charged with DUI, marijuana possession, and speeding. These charges are all misdemeanors.

TMZ.com has updated their story on Jack Swagger being arrested Tuesday night.

The new details claim Swagger was initially pulled over for speeding and was believed to be driving under the influence. The police then found marijuana in Swagger's possession.

Guessing he's going to be out of the Main Event now then. God I hope it's not Big Show again.

On a more serious note though if he does lose the Wrestlemania match because of this, who do you think would be the best replacement given Del Rio as champ?

I'll be honest from the outset I thought he would have been suited much better this time around as a US Champion, he doesn't strike me as world championship quality and especially given the current US champion isn't from the United States and he could have played the role of "saving" the title from a foreigner.

Well...... If Taker says no to WM then Punk would be a ready opponent without a match for Mania. Could be a way to put Punk back to the top(ish) by being involved with the WHC.

Either Punk would win the title or Del Rio would be solidified as a main eventer if he were to beat Punk after the year he has had.

I was thinking Henry but if it was up to me I'd give it to Randy Orton due to the fact he always seems to get the best reaction from the crowd and it would be the perfect way for him to turn heel...maybe attack swagger and put him out of action or something.

I know he's a bit unreliable when it comes to wellness but out of the options (the other EC members) I'd go for him.

Doubt it would be Orton he's still languishing due to WWE not trusting him. They'll give him big feuds, just where there isn't a title involved.

IF the shot is given to someone else realistically it'll probably be Mark Henry as he's been getting a major push at the moment and a storyline they could give him would be for him to attack Swagger and put him out of action (maybe a fake injury or something which would get swagger out of the limelight?) and then due to having no number one contender, they could have a match to decide a new one with Henry coming out on top.

I can see why people believe it won't be Orton and apart from him I can't see any other viable contender...CM Punk would feel forced, Jericho could be an option but we don't know how long he's back for (unless I've missed something?) and Big Show v Del Rio has been done to death (unless they finally want to give Del Rio the pin victory but that would leave Show looking so weak).

Jericho is gone for a few weeks now at least with fozzy so getting the title match would be difficult. Big Show Vs Del Rio would have to be a gimmick match to fully end the feud, I would say 2 out of 3 falls or 3 stages of hell match would be best. Otherwise yes Mark Henry or like I said before CM Punk.

If they drop Swagger I'd not be surprised but I think it really depends where they're planning to go with this gimmick, if they have a clear direction then I think they'll keep it running and punish Swagger at Mania by being humiliated by the 'immigrant', if they have no direction then get him out of It and get Orton in, an Orton heel turn while winning the WHC reignites that particular Championship

While I do agree with that in some aspect, do you not feel the overwhelming sense of irony in that particular plan.

I suppose there is but for me Orton is a true legitimate Main Event talent, whether some people like him or not he is and he's in the WHC scene, for me he's one of the few in that particular scene who gives the belt prestige

Swagger and Orton = Kronik. R Truth and Evan Bourne would want in.

I hope they drop him for it for awhile and then bring him back with the same gimmick and he can claim it was all propaganda cos WWE was scared of his views.

Make the WHC a fatal four way, there's a lot of talent that look lost for matches. I'd have Y2J get a match at Mania for the MITB but then Ziggler cash in a couple weeks before. ADR rematch, Y2J demands his shot still and a replacement for Jack Swagger thrown in. Something like that anyway

I'd like to see Jericho in a match with Dean Ambrose, I'd not like to see the match taken off Swagger, if it does though I don't want a multi-man match, whays the point of sticking 6 guys in a Chamber if we end up giving 3 of them the Title Match anyway...that's why I don't like that idea, same as I hate the fact Cena has to beat Punk to prove he deserves his WWE Title match next week, Cena did what 29 other guys couldn't at the Rumble, that proved he deserves a Title match, no wonder buy-rates are down for PPV's when the outcomes of their main event's arent set in stone, you can just tune in to free TV and see the final installment there

The Sun Herald spoke with a spokesperson for the Biloxi PD who noted that Jack Swagger's court date for DUI, marijuana possession and speeding is March 12th.

Swagger, 30, of Boca Raton, Fla., was pulled over at 11:59 p.m. on Lorraine Road near Morningside Drive, and arrested on charges of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and speeding.

Its not ideal, but I dont think you can have someone violate the wellness terms and then get a main event at Wrestlemania, especially if he DUI'd. In fact, your logic is far better, it would ruin the importance of victory, something they do too much. A multi man match just makes sure they get as much talent on the card as they can. Ziggler v Del Rio clearly does the job though.

Im 100% with you on the Cena thing, the logic was daft. I'm just tempering my annoyance because I'm intrigued at what will play out, and I dont want to criticise Cena at the moment cos people do it a lot and I really liked his attitude on this Raw

If it was up to me this is what I'd do (based on who I like/not really on viable story lines etc)

I'd have Swagger written out of the storyline and then have a match to decide the new number one contender involving Henry, Orton, Jericho and another superstar, the match would have everyone ganging up on Henry with Orton doing the most work but I'd have Chris Jericho steal the victory from Orton with a roll up pin (like Swagger at EC) and have Jericho go on to win the title at Wrestlemania and then go on to beat Ziggler's cash in attempt directly after the match...the reason for this is because the crowd at the moment are treating Jericho like a god, the reaction he seems to get is amazing at the moment and I'd capitalise on this.

While Jericho celebrates his victory on the grandest stage I'd have Orton run out and attack him, claiming that he keeps getting screwed and that it's his time to be champion again with a feud starting over the next couple of months, culminating in a heel Orton getting the title.

That or Santino should be given a shot.
