Welcome to the 4th Addition of the OMPL.

After a long break I now bring you the latest and greatest prediction game in the history of 606v2! With a number of people either not commiting last year or choosing to miss putting predictions down for every week I have decided to come back with avengence.

As with every great game changes must be made in order to keep it relevant, fresh and keep its players coming back....so with that being said I have made some minor adjustments to the scoring rules so please read them & ensure you understand.

Scoring

• Predict the winner - 1 point
• Predict the method (KO*/Pts) - 1 point
• Predict Early / Late (for KO) or Unanimous / Split / Majority (for Pts) - 1 point
• Get all three above correct - 3 bonus points
• 10 points will be awarded for correctly predicting a draw.
• Wild Card – Each week you are to select two fights as your WILDCARDS (put a W next to your picks). This fight will score double for you.
• Upset of the Week – Each week I will decide an ‘Upset’ Fighter…If this fighter is picked by anyone and they win then there score for that fight will double.

Rules

• *TKO, DQ, TD or Retirement all count as KO
• I will list fights 1 - 10, this list will be definitive, when predicting please list fights in the same order.
• Any entries that are subsequently amended will be void.
• If a fight is cancelled, or if a fighter drops out and is replaced, that fight is then void.

Congratulations are in order for another new title winner of the OMPL. Trenchtownbaboon shall forever have his name written in the history books as he claims the title in Season 4. In what was the most nail biting conclusion in the history of the OMPL there were plenty of people in with a shout of winning heading into the final week. A mere 8 points separated the Top 4 in the end. Last years champion Tomfinneywalksonwater will struggle to hand over the title to the new king of the prediction league having ran him so close all season. With both finishing on 183 points it ended up going to the dreaded count back and with Trenchtownbaboon securing a score of 51 way back in Week 2 he takes the title due to having the highest weekly score. Well done to the following people bhb001, WHU_Champo_League, Boxxthis & Manos De Piedra who rounded out the top 6 this season. It is a cruel way to end the season but it is what makes the OMPL so exciting.

Everyone out there who haven't signed up, I doubt it's too late. Plus, if Ozzy is willing to give up his time to run this for our fun, we should be supportive! Even for a stick a pin in the paper type of picker like me, it does get you looking at a wider section of boxers than I am use to, which can only be a good thing!

22 so far and to be honest people seem to jump in when the game starts...always a few stragglers who don't say they are interested and then jump in with predictions once the game gets started!! Much to my annoyance

Compelling....you lazy sod!! Read the rules! The changes are substantial in the sense that they will have a major affect on scoring so if EVERYONE CAN PLEASE ENSURE THEY READ!!

Thanks for everyones interest and especially the bit of plugging from Bhb...as he says it is a good chance to wider the scope of knowledge and to be honest I have gone and watched a few of the fights before (which I wouldn't normally watching) purely after looking at the result and reading about it.

To be very technical the league system is a bit pointless when you're predicting the same fights, it's my only issue, just have everyone going up against everyone else.

ive read them now, i really like the wild card idea. bit like your captain in fantasy footy.

the extra three points for perfect result is going to change it up abit, means that one person gets two of those but nothing else right is equal to another person getting six right results but not perfect. personally i think the latter is the better achievement but nothing wrong with changing it up and im looking forward to it

Strongback - I don't mind you doing such predictions once during a season but if your going to just come on and whack draws down for everything every week then I'm afraid there is little use you predicting!

I'm taking a big gamble that there will be draws. Look at the odds for draws they are pretty big. I could come in first but the significant likelihood is I will be last.

I'm not trying to be a clown I'm just taking a massive gamble. It's part of the reason I'm in considerable negative equity in my very modest property portfolio.

Maybe you should consider limiting the number of draws people can pick to two, you are the boss remember.
