The Lions is important. Even more so in Wales and Ireland as its the only chance their players will ever get to win away against Australia.

If they are over-rated as in McGeechan saying they are bigger then the ABs, the biggest thing in rugby then I would say, arguably yes.

Ask a player if they would rather win the world cup or win a lions series I can't imagine anyone saying a lions series... unless they have no realistic chance of winning a RWC.

Big fan of the lions though... and the bickering leading up the test matches!
