Deontay Wilder steps up his competition

Just not in the way I'd hoped. Apparently he was arrested in Vegas over the weekend for assault.

Will people use this to best him over the head with like Floyd or forget in a years time?

Nah. It adds to his marketability.

Depends when it comes out what he actually did, if it was a fight at a club/pub for instance then that can be brushed under the carpet somewhat as that can happen anytime but something more serious like a mugging etc will be a stain on his record


It's probably nothing more than a flash in the pan where he'll get a slap on the wrist and move on and Az said it'll probably just get his name about

Hope he wasn't out mugging, then again i'm not sure how much cash Audley brings to the table these days. If he's going mugging i would imagine Vegas is the place.

When you have a sport where rapists, murderers, thieves and an assortment of criminals get paid millions, this is a non story however low it is.

Sadly, Az, that's probably true.

Thing is, Wilder's got the heavyweight world interested & goes and does something as stupid as this. Not the sharpest tool in the box. His manager & promoters must be tearing their hair out.

It will only make interest in him increase. Such is the perverse world of boxing. His team must be jumping for joy. People do not want the HW champion to be a goodie two shoes. They want an animal. Someone who will frighten kids.

I'm surprised Azania isn't calling this attempted murder, a professional boxer throwing punches at a member of the public.

Shame if true, he's come across well in recent interviews. Not sure he could play the bad guy a la Mike Tyson.

What people say in interviews and what they really are like are two very different things.

Funny because he was only linked with a fight with Chisora a few days ago. It could be in the UK marketed as 'Domestic Abuse'. With a spin on it as Wilder recently spanked Audrey Harrison.

I reckon so to. But Golden Boy have dismissed it saying they are going down a 'diffrent route'. I reckon Delboy takes him to the trenchs and stops him. Cue every overates Delboy and Wilder is the second coming.......

Look how much a released convicted r***ist earned against a totally useless opponent. Look at the interest after the biting episode. People came to see Tyson fight not just to see a KO but also to see what idiocy he could do. The public lapped it up.
