From BBC Sport gossip page:

- Monaco have signed Porto midfielders Joao Moutinho, 26 and James Rodriguez, 21, for a combined fee of £60m.

Bargain? Over-priced? Do PSG now have a serious rival?

I think Monaco will be a real rival to PSG, the fact the players they can attract wont have to pay tax on their wages is a massive appeal to big names. For instance, Zlatan pays half his wages at PSG to the taxman, therefore at Monaco he'd earn 50% more!

Laugh

Unless there's been a big talking point overnight, I never go back and read previous pages Laugh

I think it's a great signing for Monaco. Moutinho is a quality CM, and Rodriguez instantly becomes the best winger in Ligue 1. Question is, who will they be playing with? Monaco still have to spend another £100-£150m to match PSG.

And there's still this tax question hanging over them too, or was that resolved?

BBC Gossip have put a rumour up that Monaco want Kompany too now.

They've already been linked with Tevez (who would probably go because France is closer to Argentina), Evra, Sagna & Falcao (where they will pay the 56m clause I think).

I am saying flop until proven otherwise.

He has some magic moments but when I've seen full games he hasn't been dominant.

I think Real Madrid would be happy with their work if they forced Barca to pay more than they wanted to for Neymar. It would be a bonus if they signed Neymar.

Could be a new Di Stefano if Real snatch him away from Barca after it seemingly having been agreed.

Obviously, a Brazilian, mohawked Di Stefano. Who isn't as good.

He has torn Brazilian defences apart, but that is the point, it is in Brazil.

There is a lot more money, so the best players are staying for longer, like Dede, and the league is improving all the time

However, I'm still to be convinced it is that strong to make Neymar so expensive.

But I think he is a special player, Spain will suit him and he will be a huge success, if I was pushed.

I don't get the clamour for the wish for him to be a flop, do we wish to see people who have such mind blowing talent upon the ball such as him or the likes of Grant Holt (Olly don't answer this).
I see it week in week out with the parents of other boys in my sons team, the coach has them practising close control of the ball for at least half the session and all the parents do is moan that they should be learning how to kick the ball upfield and positions. That's why we're 20 years behind the continent.

It is a huge amount of money but I suspect that both clubs perhaps have the belief and the knowledge a little more than us on if they think he could make it. But of course we play pretend management games and own Fifa13 so we're all superior in knowledge to two of the biggest clubs in the worlds scouting systems.

I am glad that is being acknowledged. Scouts don't sit at desks long enough to access Wikipedia and YouTube, so how can they possibly judge a player in the same level detail as we do.

And both clubs have wasted vast amounts of money on flops before. Nobody is infallible.

That said, yes they obviously have better insight and ability than me, however it doesn't take the interest out of a debate on the subject.

Neymar and Messi could be an all great duo. Whether Neymar is prepared to play 2nd fiddle to Messi will be interesting though. Ibra and Eto'o weren't and I suspect Villa has had enough too

It's more the parents that get on my wick but the similarities of novices thinking they know more than experts rankled me. I've got a coach in that's far more qualified than anyone we've ever had, he ensures that every kid immediately as they turn up for training has a ball each and they spend as much time as possible with that ball learning how to control and move it, but all I hear from the touch lines are armchair idiots wanting them to stand in lines to practice shooting or just have a match every week.
