Tyson Fury - Still overweight
First topic message reminder :
pic.twitter.com/fJNR7rfVrz
This is his picture he posted today, I know the fight is still a few weeks away but you can't help but feel he still needs a kick up the a$$. He's got massive love handles despite saying he's training almost every day for the fight at the moment. Although he has improved the last 12-18 months, I still think that mentally he's not where he should be. With a more professional outlook he wouldn't be overweight like this. All the top guys keep themselves in good nick

Re: Tyson Fury - Still overweight
I don't think that a website that hasn't been updated in three years carries any more credence than Boxrec, so I would call it a draw on evidence presented.
And anyway, the original point I was making was that Fury's name isn't "Luke Fury", which both websites confirm that it clearly isn't.

Corriepedia - Episode 2835 (1st June 1988)
Emily can't believe it when Percy takes over the house, doing all the housework and waking her up by hoovering. She is annoyed when he starts organising her life. She is also horrified when Percy publicly rows with Phyllis when Phyllis insinuates Emily is after his body. Don books the wedding reception at the Rovers. He refuses to let Ivy get involved with the money side of the wedding. Emily is distressed by hearing people gossiping about Percy and her. She tells Percy she'll throw him out if he continues to follow her around, reorganise her life or partake in public slanging matches on her behalf. He is shocked. Don tells Ivy he wants to get her a wedding ring although she wants to continue wearing Bert's ring. She feels the wedding is costing too much money and feels they should use Bert's ring. Don refuses. Mavis hears that Wayne Pickles is planning to continue his harassment of Jason Stubbs. Mavis refuses to stand by. She calls on Wayne's mother and tells her that Wayne has been picking on Jason. Mrs Pickles takes Wayne's side and threatens her with violence. Don apologises to Ivy and tells her she could wear Bert's ring on another finger. They make up and he agrees to show her all bills. They agree on a new start.

If we don't limit ourselves to 1988, then the 1st June was also the date that the Scottish Covenanters defeated John Graham of Claverhouse at the Battle of Drumclog.seanmichaels wrote:Tried to find someone born on that date and stumbled across this......Union Cane wrote:Boxrec has his DOB as 01/06/1988.

Percy was a living legend.
Remember when he got deeply upset when he thought Trevor McDonald had turned blue, until Mrs Bishop adjusted the TV for him.
Remember Des Barnes had a triology with Martin Platt.

Saint Guinefort was a 13th-century French dog that received local veneration as a saint after miracles were reported at his grave.
His story is a variation on the well-travelled "faithful hound" motif, similar to the Welsh story of the dog Gelert. Guinefort the greyhound belonged to a knight who lived in a castle near Lyon. One day, the knight went hunting, leaving his infant son in the care of Guinefort. When he returned, he found the nursery in chaos – the cot was overturned, the child was nowhere to be seen and Guinefort greeted his master with bloody jaws. Believing Guinefort to have devoured his son, the knight slew the dog. He then heard a child crying; he turned over the cot and found his son lying there, safe and sound, along with the body of a viper. Guinefort had killed the snake and saved the child. On realizing the mistake the family dropped the dog down a well, covered it with stones and planted trees around it, setting up a shrine for Guinefort. Guinefort became recognised by locals as a saint for the protection of infants. It was alleged by contemporary commentators that locals left their babies at the site to be healed by the dog, and sometimes the babies would be harmed or killed by the rituals involved.

Re: Tyson Fury - Still overweight
Schrödinger's cat is a famous illustration of the principle in quantum theory of superposition, proposed by Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. Schrödinger's cat serves to demonstrate the apparent conflict between what quantum theory tells us is true about the nature and behaviour of matter on the microscopic level and what we observe to be true about the nature and behaviour of matter on the macroscopic level -- everything visible to the unaided human eye.
Here's Schrödinger's (theoretical) experiment: We place a living cat into a steel chamber, along with a device containing a vial of hydrocyanic acid. There is, in the chamber, a very small amount of hydrocyanic acid, a radioactive substance. If even a single atom of the substance decays during the test period, a relay mechanism will trip a hammer, which will, in turn, break the vial and kill the cat.
The observer cannot know whether or not an atom of the substance has decayed, and consequently, cannot know whether the vial has been broken, the hydrocyanic acid released, and the cat killed. Since we cannot know, according to quantum law, the cat is both dead and alive, in what is called a superposition of states. It is only when we break open the box and learn the condition of the cat that the superposition is lost, and the cat becomes one or the other (dead or alive). This situation is sometimes called quantum indeterminacy or the observer's paradox: the observation or measurement itself affects an outcome, so that the outcome as such does not exist unless the measurement is made. (That is, there is no single outcome unless it is observed.)
We know that superposition actually occurs at the subatomic level, because there are observable effects of interference, in which a single particle is demonstrated to be in multiple locations simultaneously. What that fact implies about the nature of reality on the observable level (cats, for example, as opposed to electrons) is one of the stickiest areas of quantum physics. Schrödinger himself is rumoured to have said, later in life, that he wished he had never met that cat.
