Who would you like Wilder to fight next? - Page 2 Empty Who would you like Wilder to fight next?

Post by Mr Bounce Wed 14 Aug 2013, 2:42 pm

First topic message reminder :

Wilder's clobbering people left right & centre. However it's a shame that all of his opponents are well past-it, never-had-it-anyways or total nobodies. Who do you want him to face realistically? (He's not going to fight a Klitschko yet).

I think that potential alf-decent match-ups could be made against Tomas Adamek, Odlanier Solis, Alexander Dimitrenko and to a slightly lesser extent, Chisora. All can take a shot and have decent enough skills.

To use a phrase used by Samuel Peter; "Who next?!"

Really? Did he?

He only landed 25% of total punches.
Landed 36% of power punches though which is a healthy number.

http://compuboxonline.com/compubox-stats-haye-ko-5-chisora/

Interesting quote for MM8 though:

Compubox wrote:Where was the Chisora pressure? Only 28 punches thrown per round.  Haye, who avg’d just 24 punches thrown/6 landed vs. Vitali, doubled those numbers vs. Chisora.  Haye closed the show by landing 17 of 28 power shots in round five.

17/28 power shots = target practice.
he landed 11% of jabs and only landed 25% of total punches. That shows that chisora has a good defence.

Vitali has had the most success against Chisora and he only landed 35% of shots and Vitali is a lot better than Haye.

Floyd Mayweather only landed 26% against Cotto overall and only 14% of his jabs against Ortiz - you gonna try tell me PBF isn't accurate now??
I never said Haye was not accurate as a fighter. I am saying that against Chisora a 25% accuracy for total punches would show that chisora's defence/movement is rather good.

Cotto and Ortiz famously elusive also then??

As TTOT has said, Haye doesn't jab, it's a largely irrelevant punch for him.  He's a pot-shotting power-puncher and his power punches landed with 36% accuracy overall which suggests Haye had little problem finding the target with his punches.  The fact his accuracy reached 60% in the final round, including the all important ko punch, tells you Chisora is not a fat Nicolino!
It would suggest that cotto and ortiz were elusive against mayweather.

Haye threw 110 jabs and only landed 12. No matter how you try and twist the facts to suit your argument he missed 98 jabs and only landed 12.

Chisora has very good movement and defence.

You don't quite understand how tactics work do you, as strange as it sounds Haye doesn't throw his jab with the primary aim of landing it because it's a range finder, I know that's a difficult concept for you to grasp but rather that sitting on boxrec nonstop try watching a damn fight you may learn something.

Yes, but it doesn't necessarily mean Chisora doesn't have a good defence.

So show me another fight where his jab accuracy percentage was as low as 11%?

Against klitschko haye landed 21% of jabs

What is rather pathetic is how dumb you are, I can't work out if your just plain stupid or deliberately awkward.

Haye landed at 25% against Wlad too does that mean Chisoras defence is just as good?

No, he's a simpleton. Basically don't even bother trying to debate with him as no matter how simply you try spelling it out he'll just retort with the same utterly redundant point.

A bit like you saying ignore the jab stats for haye as he doesn't use his jab as a weapon lol even though Haye landed 21% of jabs against klitschko and only 11% of jabs against chisora you still refuse to give chisora's defence credit for that.

Why don't you try watching his fights rather than trudging up some rather meaningless statistics, compubox can be quite useful at times but it is also very misleading. It doesn't tell you how cleanly a punch landed, where it landed, how much it had behind it, you only know these things by watching the fight.

Sounds perfect, that way you wont suddenly be filled with rage and start throwing insults around. Bit sad considering you are nearly 30 that you get angry over the iternet debating with a stranger over boxing.

If you've seen the fights then why don't you base your opinion on that rather than compubox, it would a) make you seem more insightful and b) make it easier to debate with you if it felt like you had watched it.

It doesn't work. He's blocked me Truss and Az at least 10 times each yet somehow he always responds to our comments. If I was to be cynical I would suggest he may only say such things for the e-attention.
