Mayweather - will the money run out one day?

It's always hard to separate the hyberbole from reality with Floyd but if this article is to be believed, he has only one "checking account" and keeps all his money in that. Surprised to see it's only got $123 million in it

No doubt he has investments, property, money invested elsewhere etc but given his extravagance, is he at a real risk of losing it all someday? Plenty of fighters, and other sportsmen, actors, musiscians etc have made and lost fortunes. Plenty have probably lost more than Floyd has ever made.

It raises an interesting question. Who in boxing has lost the most money, if you adjust for inflation? I know Tyson talks of blowing through $300million+ but if you look at some of the old timers, would their lost fortunes dwarf that if adjusted for inflation?

yes I don't know what his share is tho. He is getting crazy money not ust for this fight but for all his fights in the last 7 years or so. He really should be set for life but something tells me he will carry on spending the same amount of money after he retires and possibly more to make up for the fact he is no longer in the limelight, his addiction to gambling will get worse as he uses that as a high to replace the high he gets from boxing (unless he goes down the route of using drugs as a high which I wouldn't wish on anyone).

His spending is all relative to how much he earns, him spending $5000 on a game of bowling probably works out to be far less than your average man spending $50.

Yes it is relative right now when he is earning 40 million a fight but will it be relative in 15/20 years time?

I can't see the future and personally think Mayweather is smart enough to know how much he can spend, he will have well in excess of $200mil come saturday with another guaranteed $140mil for his next four fights.
