The rules of golf - a welcome makeover

All of this make sense and is much awaited. What is debateable, is that several of the rule changes are triggered by incidents involving one certain Mr. Woods. One could therefore question whether these rule changes would have taken place if similar incidents had involved other players.

Pedro maybe Mr Woods had an idea that by playing around the edges of said rules, he would get a reaction? I do think however that his actions have damaged his already damaged reputation, especially with his fellow pro's.

Fantastic golfer but deeply troubled character. I wonder if he has always hovered on the borders of cheating but due to his young talent and potential prowess and maybe even his colour, was it overlooked or is this a new desperation on his part to win at any cost?

As mentioned on another thread it makes it practically pointless to call a penalty on yourself while out on course if you think you made the ball move.

Claim you are not sure and seek video footage conformation post round is now the only option that makes sense.

The burden of responsibility for honesty is on the player Mac, not the authorities.

The players will now "honestly" say they are unsure and would like conformation before singing the card. To ensure only correct scores are signed for.
