Rafas injury was unfortunate, it happened at a critical juncture, middle of the second set, and he was down.

He actually said his back strained during the warm-up, and it got gradually worse; before becoming suddenly a lot worse in the second set.
I could tell during the first set he was not moving like he was against Federer in the semi, and then midway through the second set it started to dramatically deteriorate and his average serve was well below 100mph for the rest of the match, and he was really struggling.
Wawrinka deserved the win though no doubt, he was the better player on the day clearly; and all in all I see it as a pretty impressive Grand Slam victory considering he had to face an All Time Great in Djokovic in the quarter finals.  

I can see Rafa fans find it extremely difficult to overcome injury excuses for his losses.

Stan deserved to win the tournament and was clearly the better player of all including Rafa in that given tournament and rightfully won. Please do not bring the Rafa injury excuse its not sportsman like.

I just want to see Andy on the front foot, playing well and being positive, and if he is to lose at least make Djokovic earn it. He hasn't done that the last couple of times.

I predict Novak in 3, but as long as Andy pushes him to his best (or near to) I'll be happy.

Youre both in agreement, however a person does have the right to bring up a potential injury in discussion, his back did seem to be a hamper, reasons, and excuses are different things. Also keep it classy gents, dont assume things of people in a certain camp

It's tight, but Novak's first serve percentage is much higher. Normally with these two, whoever serves better wins. So Novak has the edge for me.

Good win for Raonic..I managed to catch 5 minutes of the match and it showed the tournaments Raonic won, mostly San Joses and a Washington, and I think a couple of Asian ones Chennai/Bangkok. He has never won any tournament that big 4 players normally enter. If he could win this tournament it would be a big step forward. He is on good form, and the surface seems to help with getting aces.

ach, Murray chooses the worst time to throw in a few loose FHs, and Djokovic takes the set.

Murray not doing much wrong, in general being the aggressor which is good, but first serve percentage not really high enough, and the return game not as sharp as it could be.

This surface rewards attacking tennis a lot less than i'd expect. There seems almost no reward for hard shots on the line

Quality of the forehands and the backhands have generally been quite close. But 49% first serve when Novak is at over 70% isn't going to get it done. Andy also hasn't been that effective on the return. Hasn't really gone for it.

Novak edged it, so about the right score.

I had a small meeting for 40 minutes and if I am right the meeting took place after Nole won the 1st set and now I am back the score line is just 3-2 for Nole, how come this slow, I for once thought at the least 2nd set would have got over.

I don't think so Ferrer can overcome this Kei, kei looks a supreme threat for the tournament and it could again be battle of youngsters in the final with kei and Raonic in the finals competing for the title.

I saw the first set only but even if Murray won it he was never going to win. Djokovic, although pretty ordinary, just had more legs on the day. What might worry Djokovic fans is that this looks like his first tournament back from a break. Normally, he looks seamless.
