First topic message reminder :

Now the season is over, the rumours begin!

Milner/Ings to Liverpool seems likely.
Benitez to Real Madrid, Bale staying.
Falcao is desperate to move to Chelsea.
Otamendi and Dani Alves to Manchester United.
Raheem Sterling to Arsenal

What else?

Duty we know you're biased - that Carroll deal was the second-worst in football history, behind the Torres £50m move. Ramos may be a touch expensive at £35m but he'd immediately be United's best defender and would elevate them back up to title contenders in my book.

Nando, I read that Southampton are holding out for the £15m they quoted weeks back and that Liverpool are cheapskates, having splurged needlessly on Firmino.

If Clyne signs I will be very happy with the window so far. Mainly becasue Clyne/Milner/Firmino are first team players. (Maybe not Firmino right away as he will need time to settle to the league). Now just need a new CB/CM/ST and we should be ready for the new season... (Whilst obviously getting rid of all the deadwood).

United haven't even bid for Ramos, just confirmed. Dont see that deal happening at all. Clyne is a Liverpool player, doesn't matter if it's £12.5m or £15m, he's a goner.

Other news is that Demba Ba has held discussions with WBA & that WBA have also made a £1m offer for MK Dons player Ben Reeves. Interesting stuff.

Also, Remy Cabella has apparently told his agent to get him out of Newcastle on loan, with Marseille is ideal move, to replace Payet.

Its very frustrating how long it seems to take Utd to wrap up any kind of deal, in comparison to other teams.

Wouldn't say biased, I would just say deluded or stupid that he actually thinks England are good at football and that Theo Walcott should be a starter.

On the flip side, Ramos gets far less coverage and protection from midfield and the full backs than most CBs.

The Truro, the proud inhabitants of the Conference South (or whatever it's called now!).

In the Premier League, I have no allegiance. I would lean towards Arsenal, though, if you twisted my arm.

I would. He's not the player he was but would still be a great addition. Miles better than Anichebe!

Ben Reeves wouldn't be one for the first team immediately, unless we were to sell Chris Brunt, in which case I'd be all over him like white on rice.

Carroll at £35m was an aberration. And comparing it to Ramos is a bit of a joke. I like Andy a lot, he's far better than da h8rz give him credit, but he wasn't worth the money before his very mixed spell.

Ramos - a step above every Man United defender and most in the league too. Seems people watch him get riled up in El Clasicos and decide he's bad. I think most people look bad with Pepe beside them, Marcelo (a fine attacker but not the most disciplined defender) and for much of recent years Arbeloa on the flanks, plus a goalkeeper with the yips behind them.

Firmino will be playing for either West Ham or Barcelona in two seasons, its the Liverpool way.

Ramos is bad, he is full of mistakes, has no real defensive nous or ability to read the game.

He is a top athlete and fierce competitor.

He has more red cards than keane and vieria combined.

He's a liability, which everyone will get to see if we sign him.

Ramos is plenty quality, and given the fact that we paid €30 million for him when we got him, we probably weren't gonna sell him cheap in what should be his prime. He makes mistakes, and he's rather hot headed, but he's a big game player, and while that probably isn't what every team is looking for, I'd say in a team trying to win silverware it's maybe a little more necessary than safe options.

Until a season ago, he was the obvious successor to Casillas as captain. So I'd still wait it out a bit before assuming he's really lost all that credit.

Today, Foot Mercato have revealed that the Magpies have made an opening bid for Aymen Abdennour worth €17m. They claim that a deal for €20m will be enough for a side that Abdennour is actually interested in joining, whereas it is our understanding that Monaco want a deal which totals at €30m if they are to part with the player this summer.

As for other interested parties, Liverpool and West Ham have an open dialogue with Monaco about the player, who is more enthused by these two suitors because of the former side’s European status and the latter’s location in London.

Ramos is an awful defender and I would start to lose a bit of faith in LVG if we sign him, praying that we don't would rather stick with Smalling, Jones and Rojo personally. Worst signing ever if it happens.

I read that Ray Wilkins is to become our assistant manager.

Strongly linked with Begovic to replace Guzan as no 1.

Also linked with Austin.

All speculation, not reading to much into it.

Solid squad players, especially at Championship level. Something Ipswich didn't have last year in Fraser, pacey winger.

Best make sure Maitland-Niles' mother doesn't attend any matches, seeing as she lamped one of Arsenal's coaches when her boy got taken off.

Couldn't be happier, tyrone has great potential though. Fraser and pittman and maitland-niles on loan is a good start to the window for ipswich

Best make sure Maitland-Niles' mother doesn't attend any matches, seeing as she lamped one of Arsenal's coaches when her boy got taken off.

Mick would sort her out

Not for definite, as he want first team football. Wouldn't get that at Chelsea.
Hence why Sherwood wants him.

Only what i read, but we shall see.

Considering he's been holding out for a move to a big club for years, pretty sure he's not gonna take a step down from Stoke and go to Villa

Payet's confirmed as a Hammer.

In news that'll delight John, Newcastle are interested in signing Derby's Richard Keogh.

That was painful to read, We are step down from Stoke. Long time since the good ole days.
ps, we are a big club, just not a good one at present.

Anyway like I said, not sure if you read properly, but would be guaranteed first team football at Villa.
