McCloskey vs Maidana

Amir Khan’s last two opponents have been in contact via Twitter and might fight each other in the near future.

Now i rank Maidana 3/4 @ 140 and
McCloskey boderline top 10

But McCloskey Has got the style to beat Maidana, although i feel Maidana is a class above McCloskey its still a 50/50 fight.
Maidana has the superior work rate and power.
But McCloskey is slick enough and maidana is slow enough to miss most of his punches; McCloskey can steal rounds in my opinion.

Maidana via late stoppage in my point of view whilst being similar on points

Maidana can easily outwork Paul to a wide decision victory. Paul can't hurt maidana imo and would just be on the defensive in a really boring fight

mccloskey seemed to freeze a little in his first world level fight. he shouldn't face someone like maidana who wont give him a minute and will keep coming and coming and coming. think maidana morales 2 would be more exciting or even maidana bradley if he'd take it. mccloskey seems a very good euro level fighter but nothing special compared to the rest of the division.

McCloskey on points, faster and a much better boxer, he is slick and hard to hit, made Khan hit utter thin air throughout their fight and was robbed, im not saying he would of won but you can't stop fights half way through like that when there's 6 rounds left, he had a gameplan imo. He would beat the ragged Maidana, who isn't superman

He was hardly robbed though. Robbed of the chance to mince around and look ineffective, maybe, but...that's about it. You could say Audley was robbed against Haye if that's the case!!

No you couldn't hardly a comparison that like. McCloskey was throwing punches back, Khan was blowing out of his backside and McCloskey wasn't being battered, Harrison's a disgrace who should never of got an opportunity, McCloskey proved he could mix at world level again

I agree he was perhaps stopped a little prematurely, but if it takes the guy six rounds to warm up he's in the wrong place.

Besides, Audley was getting back up, he wasn't staying down, and he was just preparing to take Haye into deep waters...honest.

He is moderately difficult to hit but Khan got through a number of times (and was connecting more frequently prior to it being stopped.) Maidana might be a little wild in his work, but I think he is going to get to McCloskey at some point.

People are saying that McCloskey proved he is world level vs Khan, Im not sure I agree. He was in survival mode from the first bell, threw very little and would have been stopped within two or three more rounds if the ref had let him continue.

Khan is far more accurate than maidana, McCloskey was dodging khans jab with ease and thats alot faster than anything maidana can throw

McCloskey is a better boxer than Maidana but I think the Argentine will win on points.
McCloskey will be wary of Maidana's power and will spend to much time in defensive mode, allowing the slugger to clock up the rounds on superior workrate.

But he threw very little back at Khan KO-KING. He could go into survival mode against Maidana too but he would lose every round, as he did against Khan. And the chances are high that Maidana would catch him with something at some point. Not saying Maidana would definitely stop him, but it would either be a stoppage or a wide UD for me.

Maidana is a crude plodder.

He is, but he's been pretty successful with it, and came close to having Khan out of there.
