No Sky aren't showing it. Don't know if Premier Sports are.

That's probably where it's heading.

Either that or towards a new lawn mower. It's a crazy life in Steel Town.

Not really worried about the 15 quid anyhow as it cost me 210 for the flights travel and hotel.

Looking forward to the atmosphere the most, but unfortunately have to stay in Liverpool.

Can't wait to get out of the s#it country for the weekend!

Makes the whole Haye v Wlad situation a bit more interesting. If sky were not putting this on PPV surely there was no problem with Haye and Wlad fighting in April after all?

Sensible move by Sky, considering they've got the Cleverley, Groves v DeGale as a PPV the back end of May. Carl Froch is fighting on June 4th not sure whether Sky are picking that up or whether its primetime, whatever it is I'd imagine it will be somesort of PPV affair. Got a feeling with this International Prizefighter and Manny v Mosley being on the same night, Sky might try to pop in a little fee for the double header.

An expensive sport to follow, and I already pay for Sky full sports package, which I only do for the limited boxing we get, considering my interest in Premier League Football had dramatically decreased over the last couple of years its definetly an expensive sport to follow.

Cheers

The super six is contracted to Primetime so Froch fight will be on that. Sky don't want to many PPV events because people will pick and choose what they buy. Remember they have the Haye fight in June or July as well so probably felt 1 had to go on to Sky Sports I'm a bit suprised it was the Khan fight that went. I thought it would have been the Cleverly bill to go.
£15 for a PPV is scandalous anyway on top of the Sky Sports subscription it's a robbery.

Good news. the main event is not PPV worthy on its own. Good to see Sky making a stand against Team Khan.

And to think we would have had Haye vs Klitschko in April but didn't cos Sky only do one PPV a month and had given the slot to Amir Khan. Still, at least Wlad vs Haye is going ahead in June or July.

Couple o' quid to get beat maybe!
SKY have done their usual and put together a highlight reel which shows McClosky as this unorthodox hard-hitting force of nature...they made Paulie Malignaggi look like Ernie Shavers but we weren't fooled.

McClosky is a decent Euro level fighter but all things being equal, Khan should win this one at a canter. McClosky has done nothing to suggest he can make the leap from Euro level to World level so if he DID pull off the win, it would have to be regarded as a fluke.

I agree just find it interesting as usually when the fight get nearer people start changing their mind and putting a couple of quid on the upset. Remember reading about a guy that put a grand on Fraudley to be Haye 20 mins beofre the fight after watching the promo stuff.

With you on this one Dave, just have not seen anything from Mc to suggest he can pull this off. Am still not totally sold on Khan but he has improved under Roach and should have way too much speed for him.

Also given Paul does not appear to have devastating power can't see him getting lucky that way. Am happy this is not PPV by the way, whilst since the missus is out I'd have ended up getting it but have to say it is not a fight or bill that justifies it by any stretch. Think Sky have realised they may have had a disaster sales wise on their hands.

I agree with Dave, Colin Lynes dropped McCloskey it's ominous IMo, I wouldnt be surprised to see a Dimitry Salita like destruction.

Khan couple of levels above McCloskey, be surprised if its anything like competitive.

To be honest, after the Prescott fight we said the exact same thing about Khan until he got a chance to prove it.

Its slightly ironic that the Khan fans say that McCloskey has done nothing to deserve a shot at Khan whenever Khan had done jack squat to deserve his chance at Kotelnik.

I'll leave my critisims to the day after as McCloskey could show us something different on the night.

Remember that Khan was hardly running riot when at the same level. Getting knocked all over the place by Limond, Gomez and then sent to sleep by Bredis.

McCloskey has fought better fighters than Limond and Gomez and hasn't really looked troubled. Granted he had a tough night against Lauri, but that wasn't the Paul McCloskey who we had seen previously and tipped to beat Khan.

Maybe it's old age but I can't really blame Khan's team for this one. They needed to take an interim fight before the possible showdown with Bradley as not taking it would have meant Khan was inactive for quite a long time.

Glad commonsense had prevailed though and Sky aren't selling it as top flight fare though

Khan may think that his chin issues are over. He is still relatively easy to hit, so who knows. He could be on queer street a few times.

Always worth putting a fiver on Khans opponent if they have power or they are a good counterpuncher.

He leaves himself dreadfully off balance sometimes when throwing shots. Plus gets more ragged after the halfway point.

Agree again Dave, I have been critical of Khan in the past and maintain much of it was deserved but his last few fights have been Kotelnik, Paulie, Salita, Maidana and McCloskey, Salita apart which was a mandatory all were world ranked at the time and given Bradley is probably next is unlikely they would jeopardise that with too risky an assignment this time and for me McCloskey is minimal risk whilst not being a complete farce.

Who honestly can say that they seen Khan taking blows like he did against Maidana post Prescott?

With this in mind, you can never be sure whats gonna happen in an Amir Khan fight anymore, so I thinks its a tad unfair to write off McCloskey.

Sometimes the step up creates a new beast within a fighter, Amir Khan would be a classic example of this.

Why not impossible Dee, I thinks it unlikely, you usually gather an inkling where a fighter is in terms of ability, McCloskey has done everything asked of him but has failed to convince me he is ready to take on one of the elite fighters in the division, he struggled with Lauri who 8/9 years ago was blitzed by Hatton and Witter, he looks decent but I feel its a step too far. Everyone has a punchers chance, we were told this regarding Harrison/Haye recently but in reality its a real long shot, and happens as much as a 100/1 comes romping in.

Sorry Dee, but McCloskey hasn't got a hope, if you take off your green-tinted specs for a moment you would realise this.

The fight is not PPV because nobody would buy it because everyone knows that it will be a one-sided beating.

Union, not for one second do I actually believe that McCloskey WILL win so the glasses are well and truely tucked away for this this one.

What I am saying though is that its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Khan never when down the scenic route of British and European level so we can hardly compare them both when they were at domestic level.

The jump up to World level showed us a complete different fighter in Khan, so I reserve my judgement for the look on McCloskey's face when he makes his entrance and the bell rings.

I think its unfair to write off any fighter when they haven't been beat and went the proper route. Lets just wait until the night, Paul deserves his shot so all the best to him, but again I think Khan takes this. Wouldn't say in "Salita Style" though as there is no proof to warrent this or back up such a statement. Salita was all over the place against bums himself so it was easy enough to see that TKO coming.

I think its interesting what McCloskey said the other day about Khans camp. Khan has to fly all over the place to train because he is 2nd best behind Freddies number 1 who is fighting on 7th May. All this, including the split from Ariza will surely be a slight advantage on the night for Paul.

But anyway, I know in my heart Khan will walk this, and I can't wait to be in attendance because it will probably be ages until Khan returns to the UK and it will be good to witness it.

Im the only person disappointed by this, as im at my girlfriends this weekend, she doesn’t have Sky Sports, but meant I could still order on box office, I presume that option has gone now, if it is on SS3 anyway?

Duncan,

If she has the internet, just go to www.mypremium.tv, select Sky Sports 3 on the right hand side, press play and you will have 5 different media players to choose from. If one is a bit jumpy, move on to the next one and so forth.

It always works great for me!

If she didn’t have the internet aswell, I would dump her. That’s very helpful, thank you. I presume this site will be good for most fights that are on TV somewhere. Nice one

Dumping her would have been my next suggestion. Bear in mind that what Dee has suggested isn't strictly legal.
