Summerslam Card....

I'm not usually a fan of predicting cards, but i've got a feeling Summerslam this year could be great. Here's how my card would look....

HHH v Taker II

John Cena (c) v Alberto Del Rio v CM Punk WWE Title

Christian (c) v Orton WHC Title

The Miz v Rey Mysterio

R-Truth (c) v John Morrison US Title

Wade Barrett (c) v Daniel Bryan Intercontinental Title

Sin Cara v Cody Rhodes (Mask v Mask)

What would your card look like?

wouldnt change much from that tbh
depends how long they keep the MIZ/A-Rod going
looks a good card to me tho

I wouldn't be a fan of the Triple Threat but thats a helluva card mate

The Triple Threat is wishful thinking in hope that Punk is involved but i actually expect it to be Cena v Del Rio.

I've just got a feeling that Summerslam could be the best PPV of the year so far, and i hope Triple H goes over Taker. I cant imagine he'd agree to lose at the 2 biggest PPVs of the year against the same guy.

If they have a 888-Taker rematch, I'd expect a 888 win to set up the decider at WM28, which throws a spanner in an earlier thread...

Sorry am I missing something? Last I heard Taker was in no fit state to wrestle at Summerslam, or at all this year, and will probably be next wrestling in 2012.

What indications tell you otherwise?

I'll be majorly surprised if they had yet another HHH/Taker match at Mania, any future match they have will need a major stip though to have any hope of matching their last match

Also who has actually said Taker isn't fit to Wrestle at SummerSlam? All there has been is hear-say but until something more damning becomes available I'll take it that he is on his usual post Mania hiatus

This is very true, but the feud (if you can call it that), has to end some how. Otherwise the promo that HHH cut after Wrestlemania (The "I'll be waiting" one) is meaningless.

It wouldn't be the first time the WWE dropped a possible storyline though to be fair

Surely there is no point of HHH-Taker going again unless its at Wrestlemania?

The whole point of their match was HHH's quest to take the streak, a win over him at Summerslam would be no big deal in my eyes as Taker has lost many times in the past away from mania.

Taker wouldn't give HBK a re-match, what logic would the use to give HHH 3 matches against him

So you're saying they'll have a match at Summerslam to set up another one at Mania next year?

No, he's saying that Summerslam would conclude the feud as there is no logical reason to let Triple H have three shots at the streak.

Exactly, also Taker matches at SummerSlam for me are better because no-one knows the outcome before hand

Ok fair enough, in that case i agree with what you said earlier gaffer that a major stip needs to be involved, maybe HHH's career?

I mean a stip in terms of match type to be honest, a straight one on one match between the two would die a slow death for me, they had the best stip for Mania, doubt they'd do it again, maybe a HitC match

what about alex Reilly ? he will be up there since the recent push and i think it will be , Rey - Truth and Miz - Reilly

I can't understand why people think Alex Riley is already a main eventer? All he has done is been involved with The Miz for a couple of weeks, and the only reason he's getting good reactions is because of the feud with The Miz, we'll see how he does after he's finished that fued how well he does.

Riley is getting a big push, and Raw has a very shallow roster.

He is currently being portrayed as the second or third babyface on the show, behind Cena but in a similar place to Rey, so people are naturally speculating that he could be a main eventer by Summerslam.

I think Riley has been great and I just hope they continue to use him well even after The Miz stuff. He could well be a main eventer by Summerslam.

I dont understand why he's still on Raw as i thought he was sent to Smackethdown in the draft?

Riley wont be anywhere near the main event in my opinion, The Miz will probably beat him at Capitol Punishment and he'll end up in the US Title scene if he's still on RAW.

I think this is the problem though. Does Alex Riley really deserve to be in the main event pool of wrestlers and although his rise was quite quick the Miz had to work his way up to that level over a couple of years.

I think after the Miz program has done he should drop down to Midcard and have a couple of feuds before he possibly challenges for the US title

Really like the idea of the Mask v Mask match between Rhode and Sin Cara. It would be an opportunity to push both guys and I feel that this could be Rhodes year to get into the World Title picture.

As for Alex Riley, the past month have been very beneficial to him but people saying that he hasn't been outstanding and will be one for the future I just don't agree with it. He has just screwed and left the top heel on RAW so it's only expected he'll get a big pop from the fans.

I think he'll drop down the card as soon as The Miz feud is over, I don't even think the WWE were going to give him that push, shown by the fact that they originally sent him to Smackdown. I have a feeling they changed their mind after he got a big fan reaction, but once he's finished with The Miz and that reaction will probably stop, they'll let him drop down the card quickly. He doesn't have anything that makes him stand out.

Riley is having his 5 minutes in the spot light then he will fade away , RAW needs somemore top heels Miz cant do it all im really not impressed with either Rtruth as a heel or Del rio neither should be anywhere near the main event . for me summerslam card would be

Cena v Miz wwe title
Orton v Christian v Sheamus world title
Kofi v Ziggler us title
Barrett v Jackson ic title
Big show v Del rio
Kane v Ryan v Punk ( nexus split )

and i dont think it will happen yet but Rey v Sin cara

I didn't think Summerslam was that close, but couldn't work out what was inbetween. It's because of all the name changes every other week.

The only ones I can remember being announced are the WWE Championship match and I think the Orton, Christian match? But I'm not 100% sure on the latter.

I think Riley has a big future in WWE. Summerslam is too soon for him to be main eventing though. I see some good fueds for him with Truth, Ziggler, Swagger, even Regal if they use him. I can see him main eventing, but hopefully he earns his stripes first. Been impressed by him and hsi crowd reactions are huge. Like others, will be interesting if this can be maintained away from Miz. I think he can.

Who's A-Rod?

Wouldn't want to see a mask versus mask match for a few reasons

1. Its too predictable that Sin Cara will win
2. It means they have no fresh ideas for Sin Cara by putting him in stipiulations that we've seen Rey in several times before
3. The Cody character is the best gimmick in the whole of the WWE at the minute

The rest of the card looks ok but I can't see CM Punk getting a main event push any time soon until he signs that new contract. I would probably only want to see Taker/HHH 2 if they can surpass what they did at WM and I don't think that would happen, plus as somebody already mentions they should only do it if HHH gets the win leaving it open to a third and final decider.
