First topic message reminder :

Well folks, that was truly fantastic. Hands down the best PPV I've ever seen, EVER!

Credit has to go to everyone involved in that, including John Cena.

Those who watched it will hopefully agree that Cena put on a high class performance, far greater than any of us thought he could do.

I'm so buzzing for Raw tomorrow night now, WWE hasn't made me feel like this about Wrestling in a long long time.

I've just watched the match finally - and it's excellent. The crowd are amazing, and Cena and Punk's interplay with each other, and the crowd was top class. I can't wait to see where this all goes. Punk is an amazing champion, an amazing character and a one man revolution.

My favourite part was Cena nailing Laurinitis in a honourable gesture to Punk. And Vince's faces as that failed, and then Del Rio failed. I REALLY hope Vince isn't taken off screen as part of Raw's storyline.

Just one point though - Punk kicked out of two Attitude Adjustments??? That's not right surely? What's the justification?

Would everyone be saying the same things about this match if Cena kicked out of 2 GTS'? Everyone would be calling him "superman" again.

Didn't Cena take 2 GTS' before he actually got pinned? The only difference being each time he managed to roll to safety?

I think it sold it well, it showed Punk's desire to win and do what he promised.

Cena survived one didn't he? Because it hit his chest? Which is an explanation factor.

There's no actual explanation for why two perfectly hit finishers, that always finish matches, weren't as potent in this instance.

I'm just saying if it was the other way round, people wouldn't attempt to justify it - and I think it's the only thing in the match I would have changed. (Even if it was merely changing it to a foot on the rope pin break, because I realise that you needed the AA's in there to make the crowd think Cena had it won)

I think you're reading too much into it.

I don't recall both, but i know one of them was hit almost out of nowhere, which generally lessens the effect. It's not like an RKO.

As for the one to the chest, it was a botch that was very well covered by the commentators and Punk/Cena.

You're also forgetting Punk practically knocking Cena out with a knee to the jaw which Cena kicked out of.

I'm not being pro Cena or anything - I'm so glad Punk won. I think he's the coolest thing in wrestling in 10 years - maybe even more, because his character has the potential to be BETTER than Austin, not just the new Austin. (The VT before the match was an immense showcase of what he's achieved in just a few weeks)

I just think that one bit was a bit ridiculous.

same here it was a mini mark out moment for me in the match - I was sure Punk was going to tap being right in the centre of the ring!
