6th september - Lytham St Annes

If anyone remembers, I played in my wholesalers "Alliance Healthcare golfer of the year" comp at Frilford Heath last month. I came in with 34pts and came third on countback (out of 80, result!) which means that I qualify for the final at Royal Lytham on 7th and 8th of sept with the top 4 from the south and the north competeing in the final (can't wait). I want to take the trophy back to Cornwall.

Does anyone fancy a round on 6th september at a local course in way of preparation for this (RL is too expensive to play the day before) If anyone is off and local and fancies it I would be delighted to meet up, possibly at St Annes old links, that will be around £40, not prepared to pay stupid money, this seems fair

Well done Tarka, sounds like an otterly brilliant result. I would love to join you, but unfortunately I will struggle to get otter the office.

I was fortunate enough to win through to an industry final held at Lytham a few years ago. I rang the sec and explained I hadn't played it before, and would like a practice round. He let me play with a pal for a trivial amount - can't recall exactly, but it might have been £12 or so.

The comp is on thursday and I wanted a practice on Wednesday (not tuesday)

Well I phoned the secretary and she informed me that wednesday is a members day so there are no tee times available

Well worth a bash though, she suggested I try St Annes Old Links, which if anyone is up for on WEDNESDAY 8th SEPTEMBER is looking the most likely
