First topic message reminder :

Noticed we haven't got a fishing section.

Any of you chaps care for a spot of fishing now and again?

I left my details with all the tackle and second hand shops and one of them rang about 10 days ago saying they had taken in a a few bits of fishing gear . I was really shocked that Dads rod was in with it Very Happy there were a few more bits as well which i got back the guy in the shop was brilliant about everything and we ended up with me buying some more tackle off him so he was happy as well .

Going to have a go at a local pond on monday just to shake the cob webs off

Bang on, that's what it's all about. I'm rarely fussed about catching anything big - if one comes along then bonus, if not then I just enjoy the surroundings and the craft.

it was a nice day , probably to sunny for the fish to be biting so had to keep changing bait to try and keep them interested . Only me and another bloke on the lake , he had a nice double figure carp early morning but nothing else . Had a cuppa with him and he gave me a few ideas on different carp baits that he uses ( not very well yesterday )

Last weekend I hauled out two trout on a dry fly - 3lbs and 4lbs, and two pike on the same 6# fly rod with a tarpon fly - 3lb 4oz and 16lbs. My little boy caught a rainbow on a bit of bread, so we were all happy.

He's fished at my local reservoir a few times, and it is my fishing claim to fame that my name sits in the same book as his, although the bugger bettered my 27lb 10oz pike by a pound and a half.
