2012 County Fixtures Released

Finally the fixtures are released, with the season starting on 27th March in Dubai and ending on 15th September at Lords. In between these dates it is as usual a complete mess. Yorkshire play 3 Championship matches in April - two of them against Kent.

Surrey have 4 Championship games in April, of which 3 are at their Oval home. There are 2 more Championship games at the Oval in May. After that, the next Championship game at the Oval is not until mid - August. Admittedly, there is a home fixture played at Guildford in mid - July but it again all seems to have been put together by a four year old desperate to do something else!

MuchHappierSurreyFan - unless there is a last minute change of plan, I'm sorry to say there'll be no Surrey cricket at Whitgift in 2012.

We've had one or two warm Aprils recently. There'll be an awful lot of complaints if April reverts to blustery sleet showers. Are we going to have to accept that county cricket in future will be a game played only in spring & autumn.
