Best non league ground to visit? Empty Best non league ground to visit?

Post by spencerclarke Sun 05 Feb 2012, 9:47 pm

Just wondering what is the best non league ground people have gone to? I've been to a few dives over the years but every now and again I get suprised by a teams ground. Bamber Bridge is half decent if my memory serves me correctly. Plus in the club house they have a photo bizarrely of the Czech Republic team as they played them in a friendly before Euro 96!

I remember watching Whitby Town at Lancaster. 3-2 win back in about 2002. I was at uni at Preston at the time. Dragged a few mates with me, was a good laugh.

Definitely Crawley Town's Broadfield Stadium.

Built in 1997, it was an amazing ground for a then Southern Premier League side, then it became a very good ground for a Conference side, now we're ruining it all by being a league side with a non-league ground, meaning we've got to build a stupid and ugly 2000 seater temporary stand in place of a 900 capacity terrace by the end of the season. But can't complain too much I guess Laugh

So i'd have to say Halifax, and that was before they finished their new stand.

Racecourse Ground, Wrexham. Holds Just under 15000 and is steeped in footballing history.

Edgeley Park

Although occupied by the Evil Sale Sharks, our stadium is an exemplary ground, with a true kop style stand in the Cheadle End, which is fantastic when it gets going.

Have recently started to support local team, Tunbridge Wells (Southern Counties, East).  Don't think it would win many votes for best stadium.  Wink

Don't worry Corp your local side won't be the last.

This is where my local side play. It has one stand for about 100 people  and a stand on wheels without seats  Laugh

Fernando - that looks considerably better than Tunbridge Wells' ground! Very Happy  But at least it's only a 15 mins stroll from home.  And no queuing for half time cup of tea.

I really like the dripping pan where Lewes play, lovely place to watch football and has a lot of character about the ground!

Woking FC is the best non league ground i have been to though. Really like it.

Been to a few more matches at Tunbridge Wells recently.  Good atmosphere and rapport between players and fans.  And they often get about 250 spectators when most other teams in that league play in front of about 50 people. Very Happy

Cracking atmosphere at Woking this lunchtime for the local derby against Aldershot. Crowd in excess of 3,500, impressive for a Conference fixture even at this time of year.
