So the Saint Kitts and Nevis Olympic committee (or whatever they are called?) thought it was fair game to send home their sprint hope because he spent the night at a hotel with his wife in favour of the Olympic village with his team mates. Nice way to treat one of - if not THE - most decorated sportsmen from your country.

Harsh? I'd say so.

Is that what it was... Thats unbelievably dumb if thats thats the full reason.

Unbelieveable. He was a former world 100mtr champion. How can the treat him like that for simply wanting to be with his wife... Ridiculous.

And the irony is he was due to race against Dwayne Chambers today who many people believe shouldn't even be allowed to run at these games.

Well, nothing good will come of that. Nothing good comes from tweeting in anger.

But the decision is harsh. His Olympics are over for the sake of what is little more than an indiscretion. Perhaps he was given orders to stay in the village and should have done. But we all know what team officials can be like. Cocking a snook at some blazer's sense of self importance can cause a wounded ego, and that's dangerous.

Surely a bollocking behind closed doors and a "Let-that-be-an-end-to-the-matter" handshake between the two of them would have been a more grown up way of dealing with it.
