Re: US Open Day 10
Goodbye A-Rod. Delpo wins 6-7, 7-6, 6-2, 6-4. Hugely emotional.
It is becoming a habit for Delpo to send former US champions into retirement - Safin, and now Roddick!
Nice speech and doing well to hold it together.....just.
A great competitor - I'm going to miss him.

Listening on USO radio and they were full of praise for Del Boy's conduct - the word "classy" was getting a run out.

Yep the game can I'll afford to lose characters, Andy was certainly that.
Who was Ken Morrison? Presumably not the supermarket founder.

Ken Meyerson, Andy's agent.

though he needs to start to get his sh*t together quickly. Cilic breaks again. This is suddenly seeming like 2009.

What is Murray doing wrong?
I said Good Murray has matches on his racquet - we've got Bad Murray now. Commentators say he looks very uncomfortable.

Can anyone see Cilic falling apart in next 3 sets? Never seen him have issues when he's so far out ahead.

Cilic has really come on this year....let's not forget he was top10 as a youngster so clearly has the talent...just went backwards for a while. The guy is still only 23

Re: US Open Day 10
Where has this Cilic been for the last few years, (apart from some injury time out)?
Murray looking a bit sharper now though - a chance to get a break back

Cilic is a lot stronger physically this year and it's giving him more stability in rally's and on serve.

If only Lendl was present at the birth of Andy Murray to slap his arse to give him the extra umph he needs!

Movement better too, used to look a little wooden at times.
Bob Brett has certainly been putting him through his paces this year.

Murray's peak was against Raonic, he peaked too soon. Always has that dilemma.

Cilic at times has just looked effortless. Like he is toying with Murray.

Can't say I've ever seen Cilic play to such a high standard before, although I've all ways thought he's been a slight underachiever.

Yeah but sometimes grit and grind isn't enough, he's been outclassed here so far.

Grint and grind is what is needed lydian. Try and get Cilic moving all around the court and not just side to side on the baseline.

Cilic starting to get a little tight here. Next game will tell us a lot about Cilic's mind.

Re: US Open Day 10
I'm glad Murray is giving a fight: I thought the set was gone when Cilic got the double break but it's not!
It's quite a dilemma for me, on the one hand I would like a good semi final and Murray would provide that but on the other hand I want Fed to have an easy straight forward semi which he won't get if Murray is there. I still think Cilic will take this second set and two sets down....will definitely be hard for Murray to get back into it but who knows....maybe Murray can get another break?
