I think Rakitsky at his price is better value than Chygrynskiy at his.

And you were going to splash £21m on Ivanovic. Where's that money gone? The Bratwurst fans could be up in arms at the board for not backing the manager's ambition

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/basics/spielervergleich/basics_89222_25732.html

Compares the two. One is £10.5m and a decent CB who plays for Shakhtar and Ukraine, the other is £4.4m and a decent CB who plays for Shakhtar but not Ukraine. Most wont know the difference so for cheap backup there's only one winner.

Marky could be right about ratings, but Nando is right about Chygrynskiy for anti football. He's not a hoofer.

I actually think if I wasn't going for Rakitsky because of him not being known, I wouldn't have gone for Chyrgrynsky either for the same reason. You might as well have spent even less for someone else unknown.

If they know Chygrynskiy, they are going to know Rakitsky and there is a chance with Shakhtar's CL run, they will know both.

Good signing Trebs.

I looked at him the other day but decided against it as I needed to add a CB more than replace Xavi.

I was thinking that, but keeping quiet in case by some miracle I could raise the money.

I could have just snapped him up last week and been short on CBs, but heavy on on CMs, but my sensible head held firm and I went for the balance in the end.

Part of me wishes I'd just done it and dealt with the mess afterwards. My hindsight after selling Ivanovic did tell me I could have sold Pirlo easily enough, but a bit late by then.

I did contemplate a midfield possession game with Xavi and Pirlo though where they just kept possession and we tried to have a game where the opposition didn't touch the ball
