It is indeed pitiful.

I am convinced that she does zilch in the way of research before these televised games and it's this laziness that leads to the regular pattern of basic, factual errors, such as the one just highlighted by emancipator.

Such errors would be just about acceptable for a typical Wimbledon-only once a year armchair fan BUT she is paid to trot out such drivel, it's her job dammit.

For someone who reached such a good level in her own playing days her overall knowledge of the game seems remarkably poor. And if it isn't, she certainly does a fine job of making it look that way ........ Whistle

Meanwhile on court this is looking very tight indeed, and JMDP is full of confidence, not least after saving those BP's. I think he has the mental edge right now.

I'll be very surprised if Fed can rescue this. He only once looked like winning the first set but failed to convert the two BP's in game eight.

The Federer backhand is well & truly on holiday and Delpo is striking the ball beautifully.

I caught the end of the 1st set from about 6-5 and from what I've seen, Fed has really cut down on the UE's in the 2nd set but DelPo's level hasn't dropped except for 1 silly service game. Any breaks in the 1st?

No, there were no breaks in set 1. Fed did have 2 BP's at 4-3 but Delpo stood firm.

I was offered 12/1 this morning for Delpo to take the title itself, so I put a little wager on him.

Many might say those odds are realistic, but I actually thought they were pretty generous given his overall form coming into London .....

Wonder how many UE's DelPo has made so far in this set. I can't think of too many. Looking like the first man to beat Federer in consecutive indoor matches since mid naughties according to Tim + Andrew.
