cotto update?

Cotto starting well with his jab

good fight so far.

Cotto wins first round but was a little rocked by straight left from south paw Trout.

Trout doing well in 2nd

Trout out boxed Cotto in that round using skill but Cotto wants to make a fight of it on the inside.

Tough 2nd to score as cotto rallied late but I'll give it to trout

Trout doing well from the outsid wand alright in the pocket and Cotto cutting the ring off well but struggling to land

Really good fight so far.

3rd Cottos round piling on the pressure keeping Trout on the ropes.

Nice work from Trout tho.

Trout getting caught now

Cotto round tho he shipped some good shots.

Trout don't like the rough stuff likes it from distance.

Cotto landing te left hook to the body but still struggling to land to Touts head despite the roars of the crowd

Trout boxing well but doesn't seem to have the power to keep cotto at arms length

Sounds like Cotto needs to reel Trout in and land more body shots.

Hard rounds to score atm as trout is scoring from the outside whereas Cptto is scoring in bursts when he gets inside

Good fight though

Both looking a little fatigued, Cotto letting Trout become the aggressor and has had good success so far

Good 7th for Trout, pushed Cotto back and out worked him landing a couple good shots

Difficult scoring this

Cotto is looking the worse for wear now, he's getting caught more often now and Trout is having the better of the exchanges

Trouts outworking him

Trout brave enough to trade must mean Cotto is not hurting him.

Cotto is starting to look very small and very tired

Trout pushing him back and almost wanting to engage Cotto in a brawl

Trout round 10th easy

Trout walking Cotto down now total reversal

Another clear Trout win, teeing off from the outside and matching cotto on the inside

Cotto's head snapped back a couple times in that round

Canelo looks worried as he might be missing out on a super fight if this continues

Trout taking second part of fight. Cotto tired and slow.

Going into the 12th I have it

106-103 Trout with a couple close rounds

I have had company so can't score it. But Trout just had a huge round in 11th.

Final round coming up Cotto needs a big finish.

Hope the judges see it the same way.

105 to 103 Trout.

Trout took control from the 9th onwards and took the 12th also and Trout stunned him a couple times

Maybe the end of Cotto tonight.

I bet Cotto points and I was factoring in the hometown decision. Lets see if Cotto gets it. From what you guys say Trout won. I missed 3/4 rounds so can't say.

Yea, doesn't belong at 154 and I thought trout would pull off the upset

Yea he has a real intelligence about the game and puts it across well over the microphone

Trout called out canelo and Canelo must be mad, another big fight has dematerialised in front of him just like Ortiz

Really really good job by Trout and what a nice man. Good for him.

Trout was fantastic worthy winner and really entertaining fight.

Canelo has to fight Trout in my view, he could cause problems for him too.

Scored it 115-113 in favour of Trout, glad justice prevailed but the cards were a bit wide.

Poor Cotto...but isnt Trout a fully blown middleweight?

No he's always campaigned at LMW, but last night it looked like a middleweight against a welterweight

Canelo will be wanting floyd now as Trout is good enough to beat him so he can make the big bucks before Floyd reaches retirement

I would pick Canelo to beat him if they fought as Trout looked vulnerable to the left hook which Is Canelo's best punch and he won't have the same difficulties landing on trout as he is a lot bigger than Cotto and has better stamina, bu it'll be a great fight

This is pretty much the same Cotto who made Mayweather sweat. So either Mayweather has slipped a little more than I'd thought or Trout is simply the real deal.

I think he's just big and good either that or milkyboy is going to be rather smug for a year or so.

Mayweather is a welterweight so when Cotto got close he was the stronger so could work on the inside whereas Trout was a true LMW and managed to push and tie cotto up without too much problem whenever he wanted as he was bigger and stronger than Cotto

Slick Southpaw with height and reach advantages was always going to be a nightmare for Cotto and it proved last night

Cotto was simply too small for a full fledged LMW in Trout.

Trout was able to bully Cotto way to easily in the latter part of the fight.

Cotto can still be a force at 147, but he's easy pickings at 154 against true LMW fighters.
