Ring Of Honor - Final Battle 2012.

Sunday 16th December rounds off what's been a mixed bag of fortunes, the company is slowing getting the fans back on their side & there's no better way then signing off the year with ROH's IPPV Final Battle! The main event will be Kevin Steen defending his ROH World Championship against his former tag team partner, El Generico in what has been one of ROH's most brutal, intense rivalries in the companies history. This has MOTY written all over it. Watching this hype video alone should give you a brief insight into their flavored history.

Jay Lethal defeated Rhyno Via Handspring Cutter - Was attacked by SCUM after the match leading to him being Gored ( Corino was on commentary was hilarious)
RD Evans (power ranger suit in tow) defeated Prince Nana Via reverse styles clash, Tommaso Ciampa came through the crowd to get at Evans but was held back by Security
WGTT defeated BJ Whitmer/Rhett Titus after a belly to belly off the top rope, Whitmer went head 1st through the table , Best bits involved candy canes and a christmas tree
Mike Bennett defeated Jerry Lynn after interference by Maria Kanellis led to a Ura-Nage Suplex. Post match, Lynn hit a DDT on Brutal Bob Evans on a chair, a DDT on Maria on Evans, and a cradle piledriver on Evans , Nigel Mcguinness came out and gave him a plaque afterwards
Jay Lethal came out and demanded into the world title match, Mcguiness said no, Lethal spat at Mcguinness leading to a brawl
Kevin Kelly interviews Mike Mondo on the rehab from his broken ankle. Mondo says he will be back in 4 weeks. Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish out. Fish heard Eddie Edwards isn’t here. Asks Mondo if he wants to be Richards partner. Davey Richards out to make the save. Richards is double teamed, Eddie Edwards out to make the save, leading to their match
Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards defeated Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish after an Achilles lock with kicks to the head by Edwards on O’Reilly by ref stoppage
Matt Hardy defeated Adam Cole after a low blow and small package
The Briscoe Brothers won the tag team titles in the title tag match against SCUM/Cedric Alexander and Caprice Coleman . Giving C&C 1st title match
Kevin Steen defeated El Generico in ladder war 4 after a package piledriver through 2 ladders jammed sideways into 2 other ladders

Whenever Kevin Steen is in a gimmick match, I'm never anything less than amazed. When it's against someone like El Generico, I'm left speechless.
How are these two men not huge stars? Fair enough, one of them's small and the other's an ugly git, and the hardcore style isn't exactly cutting edge anymore, but still...

Shelton Benjamin was granted his release from ROH according to F4Wonline.com.
He is reported to have requested this so that he could negotiate and potentially leave for WWE as they have contacted him. At the moment, he can still appear on ROH television but he is no longer under a contractual obligation to be there.
Benjamin is expected back in WWE since he has gone as far as getting out of his ROH contract, many feel its just a matter of time.

Just watched the opening vignette for the PPV, you don't get feuds like this in the mainstream.
