Wlad's secret HATRED for Vitali and vise versa!

Just watched the Klitschko movie on lovefilm. Midway through the movie after the emotional bull cr*p (oh oh we do not have toilet in house, it outside) Wlad talks about the beating he took from Brewster. After the fight and after just recovering Vitali un ashamebley tells Wlad 'Look, look in mirror look you finished'. I had heard this story before and in my opinion this rattled Wlad inside.

Wlad was fuming inside after Vitali basically told him 'bruv you sh*t' and to rub salt into his wounds Vitali in a drunken rage bursts into Wlad's training camp and barates everyone in the gym to a point that Wlad tells him to leave the gym.

Wlad has carried that hatred with him ever since and in a way it made him the better fighter, but Vitali was very jealous of Wlad because in Vitali's mind he was always the real fighter and Wlad the pretender. Has anyone seen the clip and did you see the pure white hatred in Wlad who felt ashamed at the way his older brother treated him after the Brewster fight???

Brothers disagreeing is not a hatred conspiracy. Are you sure you haven't an alias on this board that starts with a G and ends in an ordy?

I didn't even realise there was a Klitschko movie but I have LoveFilm on Xbox so will look for it when I get home.

I remember a story a while ago which involved Emmanuel Steward. This is from memory but it went something like:

Vitali insulted Manny's training methods and attempted to discourage Wlad from using him (maybe due to Mannys link to Lewis?). After Wlad chose to use Steward, Vitali caused a bit of a fuss - Manny Steward said he would never train Vitali because of what happened...

Not sure how true any of it is, but it never really made sense to me as Vitali would often be in the corner with Manny Steward (often holding the water bottles and spit bucket). So it's either a BS story or due to the fact that there may be some control thing (which we know the K-Bros are guilty of).

Its all true i'm afraid SP but it gets worse. Vitali was hammered when he entered the gym that day. He was effing and blinding the place to hell before Wlad had the balls to tell him where to go. The whole incident with Brewster really shook Wlad up and he saw Vitali for what he really was a drunken brute. Also the film covers Vitali's links to the Russian orginized crime syndicate.

Seen the whole film and the way I remember it Vitali was begging Wlad to let him back in the gym.

They went their own separate ways in training and it works for both of them.

Really need to check on the DVD extras on this one because I don't recall seeing any of this when I watched it.

Two competitive brothers having the occasional fallout....why I've never heard the like of it before !

They had a huge falling out over it but made up but Wlad was humiliated by Vitali and never forgot what he said to him after the Brewster fight.

I’ve seen the film onetwo, watched it just the other day funnily enough but I genuinely think you are overstating the level of their disagreement. Wlad decided he wanted to go his own way in terms of his training regime and set up and he decided having Vitali around when he was in camp was not part of that. To be honest given they are both operating in the same sport and seemingly still spend a lot of time with each other it was remarkable how solid their relationship seemed to be. Don’t think there is any simmering resentment or buried hatred at all.

Watch again jeff you can clearly see it. I don't care that they are brothers when someone tells you that you are not good enough it lingers in the depths of your soul like a volcano about to explode.

Wlad was hurt no doubt about it. Remember in the film Steward recalled a story of how he and Wlad were walking in New York and a passer by stopped and insulted Wlad by saying he had no heart and was not a fighter. Wlad walked away with tears streaming down his face.

Wlad was the star and people need to remember that. He won Olympic gold not Vitali and he was the one who every promoter wanted to sign. Vitali resented this and when Brewster served Wlad's a55 to him Vitali took the opertunity to rub salt in the wounds.

Thjs is why Vitali still fights to take the l;imelight away from Wlad.

Would have thought if they hated each other they would cash on an the gigantic unification fight and earned fortunes each as well as satisfying this rage. Or at least be represented by seperate promotional company as opposed to being business partners. Did the film confirm if Vitali shot Kennedy? That was the main reason I was going to watch it.

I knew there was some disagreement - I might have heard it in passing during a Klitschko fight explaining why Vitali doesn't train with Wlad. They keep things very professional from a sportsmanship level and a business level.

I haven't seen the film so can't pass judgement but I would have always assumed the beef was between Vitali and Manny rather than Vitali and Wlad... I'll have to have a gander at it later.

any relationship that has lasted many years, including a sibling one will have contentious episodes in the past, maybe when wlad thinks about it he still has some bitterness. but the fact that they remain close and still spend so much time together means they are fine. HATRED is a bit over the top

But once again what is the point in a thread discussing whether two brothers like each other? Boxing is not a reality tv show I dont care about who likes who or who had an argment with who.

I think this story is nothing more than tough love. Cruel to be kind and the like....and it seems to have worked!

Vitali has publicly berated Wlad for not knocking out Haye but it doesn't mean he hates him; he is just expressing his disappointment toward him (and I hope Wlad gave him some stick back for not stopping delboy too).

When all is said and done, they are competitive sportsmen with an immense desire for each other to succeed. It would seem Vitali as the big brother takes on an almost paternal role at times and uses harsh tactics to motivate. It seems Wlad is the emotionally weaker of the two. Vitali knows this too, and he'll know what best drives on his brother. If toughening him up means being "nasty" and Wlad not liking him for a while, then so be it, it's for the greater good.

Also, if Vit truly hated his brother then he wouldn't have pointed out gloves
that had been tampered with pre-fight. If Wlad hated Vit so much he wouldn't be in his corner for
each fight. However, It's obvious there's rivalry between them....Vit knows Wlad is the better "boxer" and Wlad knows Vit would beat him on the street. They are unsure what the outcome of a boxing match would be (and probably secretly desire it).

If you dedicate your whole life to being the best but there's someone around who may, or may not, be better than you and you will never find out? Well, that's an intolerable itch. Your whole lifes work, your purpose, culminating in nothing more than uncertainty.

I used to fight with my brother all the time........familiarity sometimes breeds contempt.....
