JLeonLove tests positive for banned diuretic...

Following his questionable win over Gabriel Rosado on the Mayweather Undercard, in which he was floored and hurt a number times throughout. The Nevada State Athletic Commission has revealed JLeon Love has tested positive to a banned substance (diuretic hydrochlorothiazide).

The story is pretty fresh so I'll update in die course.

J'Leon Love turned up two hours late to the weigh in, was 1.5 over the scheduled weight and gained a fair bit on the night it seems.

Seemingly they only fined him $100 for not making weight which is 0.1% of his $100,000 purse which (if true) is disgraceful

Agree with everyone else that Rossado won that fight. Love was nothing special on the night.

After the fight he was talking nonsense as if he school Rosado.

Ditto all of the above, had Rosado winning and thought Love was a bit of a chumpstain. Hope he gets a good dicking for this.

Diuretics I'd imagine are very commonly used in boxing. Especially for those who usually walk around considerably heavier than their fighting weight.

It's often used to flush out the steroids.

They are, they exist within "legitimate" products (off the high street weight loss suppliments) and in PED's. The duiretic that Love used (hydrochlorothiazide) is specifically designed to prevent kidney stones, help with heart congestion and hypertension.

It allows the user to remove all excess water from the body. I'm not sure if there are immediate effects from taking it (so it isn't probably that Leon used the drug whilst at the weigh in) but the chemical remains in the body for some time until it passes through urine. It was the urine test AFTER the fight that provided the results.

Unsure of Leon's over all punch resistance, but if he's shed his body of all excess water he would have likely dehydrated himself quite drastically (thus less fluid on the brain) making him more suceptable to being KO'd/Wobbled a lot.

The fact of the matter is, with so many weight divisions it's ridiculous that a guy feels the need to drop so severely when he could fight in a different weight class.

Going by what i seen he'd be KO'd at weight above i think
