Welsh Regions' official names

I recently came across this article and realized that the Blues and the Dragons haven't officially dropped Cardiff and Newport Gwent, respectively, from their names. I believe they ought to follow the Scarlets and the Ospreys' example; they have dropped Llanelli and Neath Swansea, respectively, from their names. I think this is crucial to avoid confusion between Cardiff RFC and the Blues, Newport RFC and the Dragons. I believe it may also improve Pontypridd RFC's relationship with Cardiff RFC and the Blues, and vice versa.

It also costs less to print Gwent Dragons on tickets, shirts, and other things, which I believe could help the region in a financial sense, albeit very, very marginally I would suspect.

Surely the 'Gwent' is a clue to the area the Dragons represent?

For what it's worth, I think we should drop the 'Newport' too, but it's not my call to make.

If they're not allowed to be simply the Blues, I think they should replace Cardiff with something more representative of the whole Blues region, something like Taff, so the Taff Blues, as the River Taff originates in the Brecon Beacons (Brecon RFC is one of the most northernly clubs within the Blues region) it flows through Pontypridd (Pontypridd RFC is a big club within the Blues region) and passes the Arms Park (home of Cardiff RFC).

It's drainage basin is probably representative of the Blues area.

Drainage Basin Blues does have a certain ring to it.
