Surrey v Essex CC at Whitgift
First topic message reminder :
To my utter disgust, Jason Roy has been dropped from the squad for tomorrow's CC game against Essex at Whitgift. Pietersen comes in whilst Roy is now playing for the seconds down at Taunton.
The twelve man squad is:
Hyphen (captain), Maynard, Ramps, Pietersen, de Bruyn, Davies (wicket keeper), Schofield, Batty, Arafat, Tremlett, Meaker and The Viscount.
It seems safe to assume that Schofield or the Viscount will be the one to miss out. That is in spite of Arafat currently having just five CC wickets and a bowling average in excess of 84.
Adams has said that Maynard will open in place of Roy.

Not even syre Schofirld could run through some finishing tape!!!!!
Once again a half decent bowling effort has been ruined by one member of the opposition getting a big score. Lets hope to get out of here with a draw and onto the next game.
I just noticed the words Batty and international bowler in the same sentance above, I'm going for a lie down.
PS good effort Hyphen needed some runs.

Opportunities slipping away
Essex 35-0 as I write, but... two confident appeals (a Cook lbw and Mickleburgh catch behind) turned down, plus a catch off a Tremlett no ball and another hard catch just evading Meaker. If 2 or 3 of these had gone Surrey's way, this game could still have had some legs, but I have a feeling the tide is against us now.

On cue Dernbach takes five wickets for the Lions - that will have moved him up a few places. The question is - how many were taken with his slower ball! Maybe we will see less of hims this Summer - 12th man duties for England beckoning!?

Welcome to David - we've got a decent bank of Surrey supporters building up here!
Reminder to all new comers - need to keep an eye out for Depressed's fragile state of mind! Mentions of Batty and Schofield need to be done with care

Today was about as good as I hoped for, shame we couldn't get more wickets but it looks like a draw is on the cards for tomorrow, barring a spectacular collapse.

Is Meaker injured, as he has only bowled one over in the second innings?

I was thinking the same thing, he only conceded one run off of that over as well. Lets hope he isn't, or if he is is isn't a serious one.

Apparently he isn't out there today but the commentary team aren't sure why. A bit worrying. 3 quick wickets and we might have a cheeky run chase. Cue a 100 partnership.

The Surrey website says that Meaker has a hamstring strain, but it doesn't say how bad
