Can Dwain Chambers beat Maurice Greene's 60m world record?

A buoyant Dwain Chambers has returned from a lengthy warm-weather training spell in South Africa and asserts to be on fire ahead of his eagerly anticipated indoor season premiere in Birmingham this weekend, having enjoyed the best build-up in years. That has to do, of course, in large with the fact that he was able to go training under the backing a UKA for the first time since coming back from his suspension, meaning that the hatchet is well dusted and buried and he is fully embraced back in the arms of the British national team.

Dwain ran a staggering European record of 6.42 secs with aplomb en route to claiming his first major indoor title at the European Indoor Champs in Turin two years ago, so there begs the question whether he could go on to even claim great Maurice Greene's world record of 6.39 secs. He's got definitely the potential, he looked well within range of it in Turin and I imagine that now that things look to have settled with UKA he's going to get at last some good chances of top class racing in Britain major meetings.
