Will Tyson Gay beat Usain Bolt's New York meeting record (9.72)?

With the outdoor season steadily gathering pace now, the two mighty rivals of world sprinting Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay have already engaged in some heavy 'artilery' exchanges in the early stages of their battle for supremacy. Gay thundered to a sizzling 9.79 secs on the track of Clermont in California to claim the top of the 100m last Saturday before Bolt defied the rain of Oslo to surge to a world-leading 19.86 secs over the longer sprint.

So each of them now has gained a firm hold of a sprinting stronghold and it's Gay's time to respond as he will be settling in his blocks on the 100m mark aiming to move up a further gear with a visible target in his sights at the end of the home straight. That is Bolt's meeting record of 9.72 secs back in 2008, a world record at the time, which very much marked the beginning of the reign of the great Jamaican sprinter.

The American record holder was well beaten into second in 9.85 secs in that race so turning the effect round by reclaiming the fastest mark on this track could signal the beginning of his push. So what do you think, can he make it tomorrow? The answers can obviously be two - alright, three, to equal it!!
