606v2 IDP League
First topic message reminder :
http://606v2idp.league.fantasy.nfl.com/
Considering the keeper league seems to have caught on, I thought we could try another popular variation on fantasy football. The twist here is that the offensive players don't get to have all the fun, and you get a reason to care who your team is starting on the defensive side of the ball.
Middle linebackers are popular because they make a lot of tackles, but sacks and interceptions are where the big points are so elite pass rushers tend to go early too. Defensive backs are a bit trickier, because it's hard to put up stats when the ball isn't coming near you so the top scorers aren't always the top players. Here's the set up I've gone for:
Rosters:
O: 1xQB, 1xRB, 3xWR, 1xTE, 1xFlex, 1xK
D: 2xDL, 2xLB, 2xDB, 1xFlex
IDP scoring (offensive players score pretty much as normal):
Tackle: 1 point
Assisted Tackles: 0.5 points
Sack: 4 points
Defense Interception: 5 points
Forced Fumble: 3 points
Fumbles Recovery: 1 point
Touchdown: 6 points
Safety: 6 points
Pass Defended: 1 point
Tackles for Loss Bonus: 2 points
Teams (owner):
JJ Watt the hell is going on (CJB)
Jerry's empty palace (Forward Pass)
Nempnett Thrubwell Badgers (TM Moot)
Ballcarrier Hungry Hippos (Lowlandbrit)
Baltimore Bombers (mikeygnfl)
Turn Down for Watt (Barney92)
Moby Vick (NYJ)
Canaries (Olly)

Jerry's empty palace now have the top weekly individual and team scores (despite two players scoring 0 points), as well as the highest overall season score so far. Have to feel for the Badgers, losing despite playing Brees, Megatron, Watt and Kuechly.

Jordy Nelson vs Clay Matthews and Morgan Burnett, 0.22 points in it. Wish Peyton Manning hadn't decided to make this so exciting...

McCoy didn't exactly do me any favours, not that I did any myself, leaving Cam "35pts" Newton on the bench!
must admit, I think i'd rather have nelson then my 2 defenders (and I left peppers on the bench, so watch him rack them up...)

Re: 606v2 IDP League
I had a pretty bad week with two of my top three players on the defensive side. Jamie Collins was my top scorer this week and Chris Borland was third. I think that is my playoff chances pretty much gone. Don't think I win the tie-breaker.

Nelson pipped Burnett/Matthews 26 to 24. I thought I had a chance with Burnetts int, shame it wasn't a pick 6.
Fortunately a narrow loss didn't stop the Badgers sneaking into the playoffs with a 7-7 record (unlucky Bombers, but i'm well chuffed as i missed out in the East by head to head)

I went from fifth to third in week 13 and then back from third to fifth in the last week of the regular season. Of the teams tied on 7-6 in week 13 TM Moot's team was the one I didn't hold the tie-breaker with.

Final update:
Week 14: Sheldon Richardson (30 points)
Week 15: Johnathan Hankins (24.5 points)
Week 16: Clay Matthews (22 points)
Overall:
DL: JJ Watt (241.9 points), Jason Pierre-Paul (144.5 points), Mario Williams (138.5 points)
LB: Justin Houston (183.5 points), DeAndre Levy (183 points), Lavonte David (170 points)
DB: Harrison Smith (148 points), Rashad Johnson (133 points), Charles Woodson (131.5 points)
Sheldon Richardson was the first and only player to hit 30 points in a week; but overall the big story is JJ Watt, who outscored Joe Flacco by 0.04 points. Full list of non-QB that scored more points than Watt: Le'Veon Bell, DeMarco Murray, Marshawn Lynch.
Week 13: Robert Quinn (25 points)Lowlandbrit wrote:Top scoring defensive players so far:

Now all the NFL teams have picked up their new toys and everyone has had a chance to let this settle, I figure it's time to see how much interest there is for another season. Feel free to suggest any tweaks you'd like to see too.

Re: 606v2 IDP League
That's one of the reasons I decided to bring it up already, to make sure people have a bit more time to prepare. I've got a few small changes in mind already, but I'm waiting to see if there are other suggestions and how many teams there would be first. If we decide to do the draft the same way I'm thinking it would start straight after the last preseason games.

I'll need to pull out of this league. Trying to get my number of leagues down to 10 and almost all redraft leagues have to be sacrificed. Apologies but hopefully it will open up a spot for a more dedicated owner.

Right, I've done a bit of expansion so there are spots to sign up for, made a few changes to the scoring too (mainly to include return yardage) so look that over before the draft.
Password is still 'defense' by the way.

Re: 606v2 IDP League
Everyone gets 200 points to put together a team. You send me a whole team (including 8 bench players) with the points spread over the individual players however you like (with a minimum bid of 1 per player, full points only), and when everyone's sent in theirs (I send one to a neutral party to start it off so it can be checked if needed), the person with the highest bid on each player gets that player. Repeat with the leftover points and players until all the teams are full. Ties get decided by waiver order (randomised at the beginning), and if someone doesn't send in a team (on time) they get the best remaining players at each position according to NFL.com once the bids have been processed (just starters if they miss the first round).BamBam wrote:How does the draft work?

If you have a different account than before it's probably easiest if I remove your old team and you just sign up again. Or I could invite you to be a co-owner of the team if you send me an e-mail address, and then remove the old account after.
