606v2 IDP League
First topic message reminder :
http://606v2idp.league.fantasy.nfl.com/
Considering the keeper league seems to have caught on, I thought we could try another popular variation on fantasy football. The twist here is that the offensive players don't get to have all the fun, and you get a reason to care who your team is starting on the defensive side of the ball.
Middle linebackers are popular because they make a lot of tackles, but sacks and interceptions are where the big points are so elite pass rushers tend to go early too. Defensive backs are a bit trickier, because it's hard to put up stats when the ball isn't coming near you so the top scorers aren't always the top players. Here's the set up I've gone for:
Rosters:
O: 1xQB, 1xRB, 3xWR, 1xTE, 1xFlex, 1xK
D: 2xDL, 2xLB, 2xDB, 1xFlex
IDP scoring (offensive players score pretty much as normal):
Tackle: 1 point
Assisted Tackles: 0.5 points
Sack: 4 points
Defense Interception: 5 points
Forced Fumble: 3 points
Fumbles Recovery: 1 point
Touchdown: 6 points
Safety: 6 points
Pass Defended: 1 point
Tackles for Loss Bonus: 2 points
Teams (owner):
JJ Watt the hell is going on (CJB)
Jerry's empty palace (Forward Pass)
Nempnett Thrubwell Badgers (TM Moot)
Ballcarrier Hungry Hippos (Lowlandbrit)
Baltimore Bombers (mikeygnfl)
Turn Down for Watt (Barney92)
Moby Vick (NYJ)
Canaries (Olly)

Re: 606v2 IDP League
It would be good to see the full set of bids once the bidding is finished to see what everyone bid for.
I have done auction drafts on the nfl.com but this way was much better as you have no idea how much other people value the players.

The waivers could be interesting once people see who's left.

Re: 606v2 IDP League
Right then, let's finish this thing.
Everyone was fighting over Demaryius Thomas, he goes to mikeygnfl and leaves the following spaces:
Forward Pass has 1 spot and 20 points
TM Moot has 4 spots and 16 points
Lowlandbrit has 1 spot and 4 points
NYJ has 1 spot and 1 point
Forward Pass gets the highest rated player still on the board for his 20 points, which is Marshawn Lynch (who I suspect BamBam was talking about). As requested, for 5 points each (1 more than anyone else can spend) TM Moot gets the highest rated O player (Montee Ball), WR (Victor Cruz) and TE (Jordan Reed) left. My last 4 points get me Doug Martin, NYJ gets Alfred Morris for his last point, and TM Moot's last point goes towards the top DB left (Morgan Burnett).
Waiver priority to start the season is: Olly - CJB - Lowlandbrit - Forward Pass - Barney92 - mikeygnfl - TM Moot - NYJ

quite happy with those 4, thanks for sorting that out
do i need to anything else now, or will my chosen players magically get placed in my team ready for this weeks games?

I think everyone has to put their players into the starting lineup, although there might be a button for that somewhere.

Re: 606v2 IDP League
I'm going to just do some highlights for round 2 and 3, and then I'll put up all the first round bids tomorrow when I have a little more time:
AJ Green (30, 28, 20, 11, 5) and Demaryius Thomas (38, 20, 4) got the most bids in each round.
Thomas and Gronk (36, 5, 3) got the highest bids.
NYJ managed to pick up Andre Johnson and Vincent Jackson for a combined 3 points, Russell Wilson and Cam Newton went for 1 point each, as did Larry Fitzgerald.
Full first round tomorrow, but wait until you see how many players got one bid. TM Moot nearly got Jimmy Graham for 2 points.

Can you make this league "public" (it can be done via the league settings)
I'd quite like to have a look as a non member at how this progresses with the IDP players

Low scoring week there. 5 teams scored less than the lowest score so far, and Olly was the first person to score under 100. The only game TM Moot could have won in a previous week with this week's highest score was the one he lost last week.

Re: 606v2 IDP League
Now we're a couple of weeks in, how's everyone finding this? Between the smaller amount of teams, the relatively smaller bench, and 1/3 RB/WR split, there are quite a few differences with the other leagues and I'd love to know what everyone playing along (and anyone else following from the sidelines) is making of them.
Also; how do you all feel about the scoring? IDP scoring tends to be less standardised than in regular leagues generally, so while I tried to set up something pretty balanced, it's also a bit experimental and I'd be very open to suggestions for tweaks (if there's enough interest at the end of the season to keep doing this). Any plays or players you think are being over or under valued?
Top scoring defensive players so far:
Week 1: Harrison Smith (20 points)
Week 2: Ryan Kerrigan (29 points)
Week 3: Jelani Jenkins (24 points)
Week 4: Husain Abdullah (22 points)
Overall: Lavonte David (57 points)

Re: 606v2 IDP League
i'm really enjoying it, just wish i knew what i was doing!!
having 1 RB is painful when they don't produce, and my lack of NFL knowledge is hurting my Defence player selection but its all good fun
keep getting impressive Predictions (217.08pts this week) but some what less impressive scores

Yeah I'm enjoying it too
Would prefer 2 RB's but not that bothered
Really like the small bench as it means you have to release players on a regular basis
would def play again next year

I benched Lacy, Moot. 25 points down the drain. Although it was an extremely satisfying game, so not going to complain too much.

Ouch, I must admit I kept Lacy in the East, so doubly enjoyed his performance.

Always nice to get a league record score in your own league. Peyton Manning even chipped in with a tackle!

I could better it with 11 points from Michael Bennett tonight against a Kirk Cousins led Redskins.Lowlandbrit wrote:Always nice to get a league record score in your own league. Peyton Manning even chipped in with a tackle!

Re: 606v2 IDP League
some impressive scores out there, mine might of been better if I hadn't left Pierre Thomas on the bench (in Keeper and IDP)

Re: 606v2 IDP League
New highest score by a defensive player for JJ Watt last night, but not quite enough to break the 30 point barrier.

29pts from JJ and 34pts from Cam, just as well for me as the rest hardly bothered...

To be fair, I'm not sure what you were expecting from an inactive Megatron...TM Moot wrote:just as well for me as the rest hardly bothered...
By the way, if you're reading this Jim: Patrick Willis deserves a night off.
