Details on New Stable Name for Woods, Kofi and Big E, Will They Be Heels or Babyfaces?

Xavier Woods has been referring to his new stable with Kofi Kingston and Big E as The Smart Athletic Friends, it appears each tag team combination of the group will have their own nickname. Woods and Kofi teamed up last night in Atlantic City but it’s not clear if Woods is referring to his team with Kofi or the team of Big E & Kofi that he calls Speed Force. Woods wrote:

“Smart Athletic Friends @ #WweAtlanticCity this combination is Speed Force… @wwebige – Kofi Kingston”

It’s worth noting that The Smart Athletic Friends played the babyface role against Los Matadores last night. They’ve worked as heels at some recent live events but it appears they’re being tried out more as babyfaces.

I don't like the overall name. The "Smart Athletic Friends" seems a bit like they should be making friendship bracelets for each other.

But I like the idea of a stable that can bring strength, speed, top rope action, etc. depending on what they are up against, particularly if they are going to have a tag-team role. Of course this is nothing new, but most of wrestling is made up of re-hashing old ideas. And it is at least a hook that the commentary team can build on.

I dont mind a stable having interchangable members like the Freebirda or the Spirit Squad, so im quite interested in seeing a stable where all the guys have wildly different attributes and styles to adapt to various matches and opponents.

The name is ridiculous though.

Apparently they were trying to get Flair, Hogan and Sting together in a similar stable called Asthmatic Friends
